What's worse... Opiates or Alcohol

What does everyone think is worse for you ( health wise ); Opiates or Alcohol ? If you had to choose one to be addicted to for a few years, what would it be, and why.

Alcohol hands down is worse, drunk driving, domestic violence. Etc. But with an valid id you can buy all the booze you want but God forbid you run out of pain meds early by two days. The system is insanely screwed up. And ps in North Carolina doctors or mine anyway spent 6 months surgery, fusion,PT before he would even prescribe pain management I take 5 mg -325 4 per day. If I have had a terrible day and my back has been a bear I may take to  6. My doctor is ok with this but says no more than 30 mg per day. Walgreens has always been the inconsistent pain. Sometimes they fill with no problems but if one particular pharmacist  is working he will hold it for 30 days even when by doctor has told him. I have found cvs is much kinder and my family is in process of switching over. Any others have issue with walgreens in nc?

Yes, alcohol is the winner. It'll kill you quicker than just about any other drug. Rots your brain, your kidneys, your liver...just about everything. Pure clean opiates can actually act as a preservative (up to a point. Then...*whampf!!!*. Everything goes down the tubes. But that can take a decade or two).
Five years of hard drinking can make you physically about 20 years older, even without all the damage.

heroin in its pure form is quite good, alcohol is really bad for you (in large amounts)

Alcohol can be terrible even in the short term.....as far as harmful effects on your body. It takes longer for the pills to harm you in a major manner.....neither are any good for you -

Yeah, well what about one or two morphine pills a day, and no alcohol? Typically when people drink they have at least 2-3 You know. I wonder if anyone knows about this. Shall we ask a doctor?!

Well, I liked taking pills more than drinking. However, as far as HEALTH I think it depends on the usage. If person #1 took 25 hydros per day and person #2 drank 1 beer 3 times a week....well #2 probably has a better live...I'm not a Dr. but that's my guess.

I guess if I had to make a choice, it definately would be pills. None would really be my choice but I'm not big on the Alcohol thing.

I'm stumped.  I guess they are equally bad. Alcohol is definitely easier to get, but I seemed to function better on pills.  My choice is neither. lol
