CNN played the debate again today. I only listened and did not watch(had my back to tv while on computer).  You guys are right....Palin answered very few of the questions and did alot of rambling on about her rehearsed talking points.
Many on here say this mess is not the presidents fault. So if it really is congress that gets everything done, why don't we at least get a president and vice pres.  that can speak intellegently. It's so embarrasing having a president that comes off like an idiot. Lets not make that mistake again. We need brains and forsight to get this country out of this mess, not just a folksy talker with no knowledge.

she was above ppls expectations in the debate for their weren't any!did ya notice her reading her notes?God forbid this charlatan with purr-fectly lipsticked lips became VP or P....would she carry her notes with her?Jeez...what is with ppl to think she could actually be a VP or P with her total lack of xperience..she is what she constantly refers to herself as.....an outsider!and blaming the media for badgering her in interviews with her apparent lack of knowledge......hey toots ya shouldn't get in the kitchen if ya can't stand the heat!and calling Mc Kiernan Mc Clellan...wrong war honey!she flunks history again!I read in Rolling Stone that Heart called her to STOP using the Barracuda song or they would sue her......she had no copyright rights.......she should use Charlie the Tuna song with those big slimy lips that r constantly flapping and talking in circles saying nothing...the mistress of the no-answer!!LOL!

All the winking, the doggoneits and the you betchas in the debate last night made me laugh.  

Sarah Palin is SUCH a breath of fresh air.  So new and so fresh and so different that the Obama camp should be forfeiting their "Change" signs to the McCain camp. lol

In the past I have sometimes voted for the odd ball out there for President, because my feeling is we need someone other than the typical Washington bureaucrat, the professional politician. Problem is, by the time they climb the ranks, get through the campaign and would get to the top office, they're in it. They've been fluffed, prepped, filled in and f'd up. So as the years have passed and the more I get into and understand politics, the more I understand the need for some one who understands the workings of Washington and the rest of the world. Some one who can maneuver among them, knows how to work it for the people (us,the little guys) and still maintain a deep seated level of goodness. Some one who has not been so far from the regular people to have lost sight of what we need, yet knows enough of the Washington BS, that they won't be overwhelmed by the complexities of it.
I feel Obama and Biden fit what I'm looking for.  I absolutely get a sense of goodness in Obama. He's a good man and an intelligent man. I feel the same about Biden, my cup of joe.
I'm afraid Palin will suffer from the surge in her position, just like a lot of these movie stars that shot to stardom to quickly, overwhelmed, unaware and unprepared. This is a woman who's political career in Alaska still allowed her time to be a mother of 5, hunting, fishing, PTA and soccer. She is unprepared to deal with the time, stress, complexities and cruelty her potential position will put her in.
This is just my opinion.

flmagie....i agree it was a bit much with the folksie thing......

Our founding fathers did want normal people to run for office...do the time then go back to the farm or the print press.......So it might be good to have a real average person in office.

I really think that the pres and vice pres are not running anything and it is the group of people around them...so the fact that she does not know every thing that Biden or Mcain know is ok with me.

Its like when i first hit a golf ball....i was pretty good i just did what felt right and was not wrapped up with a bunch of thoughts on what and how and where.....Then after playing for a while and learning from lots of people...i would try to rember and think of all these things that evryone said while i was swinging....and i am no where close to as good as i was at the start.

She's not on the inside and so she might make good choices....choices that others on the inside can not make. She might just do whats right instead of doing what her party expects......

I'm still undecided...
