Shauna13

This post is for shauna13. I am trying to taper off tramadol that I have been taking for a month. I saw how you wrote that u took gabepentin to help withdrawals. My question is this, how long were u taking tramadol? Did you have ANY withdrawals? Any depression? I have a 5 year old I need to take care of so I can't go through withdrawal!! I have gabepentin and am already on anti depressants. Please share your experience and let me know what u think will happen to me?? It's soooo hard to stop taking them. Especially when I have 160 of them!! Help,

Hi there! In reading the above comments I too have to agree,,dump the pills. If you taper at this point you are only trying to control this addiction monster and I can tell you that monster will win each and everytime hands down. You had a previous drug problem and went thru detox then and was clean,,,dont let this get any further now,,get  a hold of it before it becomes another full blown addiction to fight! I know you can do this,,you did before! Best wishes and many hugs~bkitty

I think it's great that the gabentine has worked so well.  I wish it was that way in general because most of us had to go through the withdrawal.  I agree with everyone, you don't need to taper.  Flush them and get going - totally doable to live without this drug.  And life will be much better, you'll see.

Good luck to you!  :)

You can do it! I'd start the gabapentin, because it is an antiseizure med...then u can rid the tramadol and have one less worry!!! You CAN do this....If I can you can!!!

Hi. I haven't taken the gabupentin yet because I can't stop taking the tramadol!!! I am starting to taper so as soon as I start to feel like **** I will take the gabupentin. I am just so scared it won't work. I went through opiate withdrawal three years ago after a 10 a day year habit. It was hell!! Beyond words!! I have been clean since then other than this month long addiction to the tramadol. Pray for me that I can do this without withdrawals!!!

I agree...get rid of them! I have had virtually no wd symptoms, taking gabapentin as directed...I do take one extra at night just for insurance. I have felt great, I have energy, I feel like me, I'm not anxious, I am happy actually. Have had a few sneezes here and there, had a couple chills the first couple days, but that was the extent of it. Today is one week for me!!!! I was taking tramadol for more than four years. I have detoxed before and the wd was hell. This time its been great lol have you taken the gabapentin yet?

flush them and jump.A month is nothing and if yuo keep going you will have a heavy duty addiction. Not just a mental addiction.Tapering does not make sense in your case.It will only lengthen your using time and get you more hooked. This is probably not what you want to hear but it is the truth. We have been over this and we know you can do it.Sorry if it sounds mean I didn't intend it to be.Just don't make this harder by waiting. You are right on the cusp of where this drug can really get it's teeth into you.
