1 pill a day addict

I went all day without a pill until I got to work & my gf had me 4 10/325 perks. I took a whole 1 because I was in so much misery. When I got up this am I had nothing & went all day without taking anything. I was sweating & cring in the am & after lunch I had chills and was aching all over & so ill I couldnt stand myself. I slept till time for work. I think im gonna have to taper off I just cant do this cold turkey..this is a monster!! I broke down & told my best friend today thaT Im an addict. She is going to help me taper off..I plan on taking 1 pill in the am & 1/2 pill in the evening for the next week. After the next 7 days is what im trying to fighure out..should i go to a 1/2 in the am & 1/2 in the pm? Im lost!! This is more powerful than I had originally thought. Ive let myself & others down. Will I be a 1 pill a day addict the rest of my life? Morning times are the worst for me..that much I know..if I dont have my pill in the am Im not able to function..HELP!!!!!!!!!

HI all I am at 1 1/2 per day and I get that it's not sooo horrible but my brain is telling me it is.  I have tapered down but am starting to really freak out here.  I am home with two small kids and I feel so on edge if I don't take half a pill.  I don't have anymore so it isn't an option.  Sorry to hijack post just needed to vent

Your story is not an uncommon one unfortunately.   Most all of us started out with a legit scrip or using them once in a while.   What you are experiencing is normal.   Some people can taper and tolerate the witthdraws that accompany the taper.   I couldn't.  I wanted away from the wd, so I would cave.   If you friend is holding them and helping you out, that may work for you.   Get the items in the Thomas Recipe on this page to help ease your wd and help get you on the road to feeling better.   They really do make a HUGE difference.

Jump.  Do it now and get busy doing something for you, getting clean.  You just prolonging the agony and depriving your brain of a start at getting healed.

You can do it, most of us have been where you are and we know it is very tough.  Having any access to pills is the real problem here, you just cannot get well if you have access.  A least the majority of us cannot.  I relapsed many times because I thought I was different.  I am not.

I'm an addict.

OHHHH Addicted mom, I get exactly where your coming from. For me it was giving up the last (just a couple )pills a day phase. Please trust me on this. Thats your addict brain messing with you to get it's next dose. At this point your just not wanting to feel the sick w/d brings and that makes sense. Unfortunately you have to go thru it to get over it. If your like most you have had to w/d cause your source ran dry and you just got thru right? Get some good vitamins (Thomas recipe) and get started. You can do this, just have to tough it out for a few days. Once your past immediate detox you'll be so proud and euphoric that you'll want to continue. Make sure you can't get access to pills. Freedom from a stupid pill bottle is so worth the few days of discomfort. Rooting for you!

hi....ok now it makes more sense....sorry you are having a hard time....at first it sounded like you were just taking 1 pill per day....but actually 6-10.....ok i would suggest and IMO.....i would just stop and go CT from the 1 pill...that's just keeping you in the WDs longer even tho it's small dose...if you've tapered down to 1 then you can stop....but that's just my take on it....you are already experiencing WD symptoms so why not just quit now and get it over with??  I think that last pill is just your safety net...i did the same thing for a day and just decided to do CT to get it over with....i was taking 14+ Norco per day....

We can help you thru WDs....just lean on us for support...we want you to succeed!!

My issue is not just 1 pill a day..I wish it was just that..I tend to take on average 6 to 10 pills a day if thats what i have..Since finding this site before Christmas I have cut back tremendously..Im just wanting to get down to 1 pill a day or 1 1/2 pills a day until I can go completly off of them. I have been taking pain meds for over a yr now and it has cost me in alot more ways than $ from my pocket. I know that I have a problem and honestly I didnt realize how many were addicted to pain meds until finding this site. I am very thankful that Im not on Opana or Oxys because I imagine that would be far harder to kick. I dont snort my pain meds either althought Im not gonna lie I have tried it & it made me gag like heck & I had smoke coming out of my mouth. I like to chew my meds..its like I get relief faster. Maybe yall are right maybe my addiction isint that bad but all of us are different & our mind sets arent the same. I think the psychological part for me is going to get the best of me but yesterday I was not in a good place at all. I have lowered my tolerence over the last couple weeks & I have no intention on taking 6 to 10 to 12 pills a day again. I found myself looking constantly when my pills were getting low..Drug Seeker is a term that I never thought I would use to describe myself..but thats what I am & Im an addict as well..Not how I ever pictured myself ending up a yr ago when I took that 1st pill!!

I am so sorry to hear you are having a hard time...
But..That said please read my post and hopefully it is enough for you to go thru what for you is I am sure hell, and stop now!! Trust me you do not want to be in my shoes and I can only promise you that if you don't be brave now and get thru it and move forward you will be in a far worse place.:-(
I wish you well and hope at the very least my major mistakes can stop someone like you from doing the same.
good luck!

I don't mean to sound harsh, but I wish my issues was only 1 pill a day as opposed to 15 to 20. I can't imagine you will have physical withdrawals bad . Maybe just mental . See a doctor, could be depression . Good luck and god bless. I'm cold turkeying today. Hasn't hit me hard yet, but will in the am. Scary, 20 pills to nothing . God has a plan and so do I . Enough is enough , for all. Good luck .

Hi there! I would tend to agree that if you only take 1 pill a day, you should just quit! I would not think the withdrawals would be too bad! How long have you been taking them? If you could just get through a few days of feeling rough, then it should be done! If it were me, I would just want to get it over with! Either way you decide, we will be able to help you with any advice and support! There are things you can do to help ease withdrawals! Drink plenty of fluids, take vitamins, Immodium for stomach or bathroom issues, and some mild exercise will help! Take care, and please keep posting!

There us no need for a taper when you take one pill a day...honestly I can't see that being a terrible withdrawal to go through. Just stop taking that one pill a day...believe me you are in a much better place than most on here...consider yourself lucky that you don't have to quit a 20 to 30 pill a day habit....
