Age is just a number.  It's all about how you feel.  My body feels 80 some days but my mind still feels like 29.  (I'm really somewhere in the middle)

Hey Kelly good to see you...im so happy to hear your going to meetings this is a critical step that so many dont do all I know is it works for me I go to 4 meetings a week and there are people there that have  20+ yrs clean that do the same it is also great you have your hubbys support my wife is my biggest supporter but it is at the meetings and working the 12 steps that keep me clean 4 meeting a hour long is a cheep price to pay to stay clean please keep posting about the meetings so many are on the fence wounding what goes on there I wish you all the luck in the world with your recovery ...Gnarly

For some reason i thought you were way young, like around 20!!!  I am so glad your hubby is asking questions and you are talking about it.  As for your son, your actions will speaker louder than words~

Keep that outlook, and it will help carry you through. I love to read posts like this.  Keep it going girl. You are doing great. Congratulations!

I remember when I came home from my first meeting my wife asked "soooo...what's the deal, do you go to this class once a week?" I said "hell no! I asked them how often I should go? So they asked how often do you drink and drug? I said every day and night. They said, then there's your answer." I thought wtf I sure wasn't home when I was using. I was there but I wasn't really there. So I went every night and there were day meetings downtown where I worked and I got into that circuit also.

You keep this willingness going Kelly, you sound so great! You have a wonderful spirit about getting and staying clean that's really contagious! Keep posting!

That is so cool Kelly. I  so happy for you. If the meetings help. Pack them in.

I always loved the open AA speaker meetings. Where someone would tell their story. It is so insightful to hear. To know everything you have done is not crazy. Others have done it too. A lifetime of it.

One thing - I do t know your sons situation but if he is not an addict he shouldn't go to regular closed meetings. He can go to open meetings though. Every one is welcome there. But closed meetings are for the real discussion and work. For those trying to quit or maintain.

You are a success story girl. Keep it up!!!

Great to see how far you have come keep it up... and as far as the family stuff try and keep it on the sideline and staying sober is the main thing right now and in time you will look back and say HEY i made through ??? so the next issue will seem that much less of and ordeal best wishes..

I'm so proud of you for doing what you're doing!  Good for you!  THAT'S what recovery is all about...the "work", and being proactive about putting up those roadblocks!

I'm sorry to hear that you've got some family stuff going on, we're here if you want to talk about it of course!

Keep up the great work!
