Suboxone therapy almost finished and then doctor QUIT!

I have weaned down to 2mg Subutex in the morning and 2mg at night, and been clean of narcotic pain medicine for 9 months, then..MY DR. QUIT! He no longer is available to write prescriptions. I am in the Columbia area, I do not need beginners treatment or in-house therapy, I am working without interuption, and I have been happy since my life was saved by my willingness to succeed and the help of Subutex. I had a bad reaction to Suboxone and the doctor kept me on Subutex. My last script was filled in Sept. 2012, so I have used it sparingly. If anyone can help me or send me in the direction of a common sense doctor who isn't trying to get rich off of a person trying to make their lives better, let me know. I just need a physician who can take me on as a patient and provide the final few scripts I need to wean on down to the end. I feel so good, and don't want anything to get in my way. No doctor in my midlands s.c. hometown knows how to spell suboxone, so I thank you. Good Luck to everyone.

Almost, but I cut them in fourths, so a script lasts long time.

Yeah that sounds good. I am a nurse and paramedic, so i knew the certification had to be there, but dang, hardly any of my doctor friends, outside e.r. know what i am talkin about. I just hate to be asked to pay hundreds before I even see a doc. Thanks again. RW

not just any doctor can prescribe it.  There is an extra certification and rules for them to be able to prescribe it.  Such as they can only have a limited number of patients prescribed it at any certain time.  You said you are in the South carolina?  I do know of some doctors in charlotte I can point you to that I have used in the past.  Just PM me and I will get them to you.

Thanks Tom,
I printed out a long list of SC doctors and alot of them do not prescribe Suboxone. One woman who says she was the office mgr. told me she wasn't familiar with that drug. the woman worked for the most featured named doctor in my area when I placed my zip in the help find a doctor... All I need is a doctor who understands that I know what I am doing, I'm in the biz, so to speak, and I just want to finish what I started. Thanks again Tom.
