How long do withdrawls last for?

I have been taking oxycontin 40/ and roxycontin for over a year now. I started off takin them recreationally. from a half to now 5-7 oxys or roxys a day(mainly roxys, until they run out then oxys). I want to get off these so badly, but am so scared of the withdrawls. I have withdrawn before but only for 2days and they were hell. I am going to quit cold turkey but i need everyones help.. anyone who knows how to calm the withdraws down or make them more comfortable please respond. I have a five month old and need HELP!!!!!! during my withdrawls otherwise im afraid i wont be able to take care of him. No one knows not my parents,friends or spouse that I am addicted. I suffer from hot/cold sweats, diaherrea, SEVERE BACK PAIN!!!!, and ofcourse my mind telling me to get some and I'll feel better! Someone help!

If you have the will-power and most addicts don't, I would taper-off for starters...but since you have a baby, you may want to tell your husband and come up with a plan on how to taper properly so when you are finally waaaaaaaaaay down, you won't have as horrible w/d as you would with cold turkey.  You can plan a chart and times( I wait as long as my body will let me) and then I take what I need to just not feel bad....it took me a minute to get over the not getting high part and that was a hard break-up, cuz it felt so good.  But I asked myself, do you want to miss out on time with your kids to be high for 30 min. or do you want to be able to function and at least not feel like ****...I choose my kids.  If God said today nikkib2008, you can have all the roxy/oxy you could dream of, but you can never see your baby again, which would you choose?  You have to think of it like that...
