Taking suboxone for 8 days and wanting off by day 10

I was perscribed oxycodone for back pain about 7 months ago and I decided that I was tired of being dependent on them so I just started taking Suboxone (2 mgs per day) last thursday (7 days ago)  and did that for 2 days and I went up to 4 mgs per day for 3 days and then for the last couple of days I tapered back down to 2 mgs per day.  This morning I woke up (day 8) and only took 1 mg and plan on doing the same tomorrow (Friday) and by Saturday jumping off completely.  I have heard if you are only on Suboxone for 7-10 days then there are little to no withdrawals.  Is that true?  2 months ago I attempted to quit the oxycodone cold turkey and I used Immodium and advil to get me through the first couple of days and that was a breeze, but then after 3 or 4 days I got to the sleeplessness and I struggled through that for about 5 more days.  I have to be to work at 6 am everyday and work 10 hr shifts so I couldn't handle getting 2 or 3 hrs of sleep per night much longer so I started taking them again.  My main question for this posting is if I will have any sleeplessness when getting off of Suboxone after only 10 days of using it?  Can anyone help?

So you are only on Suboxone for 7 days total or you tapered off of it for 7 days?  If you were only on it for 7 days, did you have sleeplessness?

i used a 7 day taper to get over the wd and felt tired for 3 days. No where near what i would have felt going cold turkey, but i would think u would have a couple of not so hot days, but nothing horrible.

because malatonin is a hormone  produced in the pineal gland  and when we are in the dark...is when this gland releases this hormone .:.

you don't need a prescrption, it is OTC

Why do you say to take it in the dark?

I feel like I am in no position to offer advice but I can tell you something that has worked for me the last couple of nights. I like it because it is without taking any sort of pill.

I have a dog that sleeps in my bed every night. I pet him in a repetative motion just in a circle. It honestly puts me to sleep and he of course loves it. Possibly a soft blanket or something might work just as well. Good luck to you!

Hi welcome here :)

lack of sleep is quite common and whatever the way of quitting... we recommend here melatonin... it is a natural sleep inducer non habit forming... you will not have any problems waking up nor a dizzy head...( take it in the dark, btw )
