30 Days Clean!!!

Today is 30 Days clean for me!!  I can't believe how fast the last 30 days have gone.  I feel great!!  Been sleeping great, am no longer fatigued!!  Thank you to everyone here for helping me through the last 30 days!!  I am sooo glad I found this forum when I did!!  Now if only my friend Bill will sign on a let me know how he is doing!!

My story for anyone who doesn't know it...

I am 29 years old, diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Was taking Lortab 7.5/500 since I was 19 for Arthritic pain.  Stopped taking them for about 2 years.  Then started back up again for pain relief.  Was taking them daily for the last 2 years at amounts way above what the script was written for (14-16 pills a day).  I knew I was going down the wrong road fast!!

30 days ago I finished my pills early as I always did and the new pharmacist at my pharmacy would not refill my RX early for me.  This was a blessing in disguise!!  I am now 30 days cold turkey free from opiates!!  I have had some Arthritic pain in the last 30 days but nothing big enough to warrant the need of a pain pill!!

I am going forward in this life of mine and not looking back.  I wasted too many years laying in my room in an opiate haze doing nothing but counting the hours till I could take my next set of pills...  It feels sooo good not to find little pieces of paper lying around my room with the time that I took my last pain pill written on it!!  I would write down the time each morning that I would take my first 2 pills then take 2 more pills 2 hours later from that time until I went to bed at night!!  Who wants to live that way??!!

I had cravings the first week and a half when I went cold turkey.  I can honestly say I haven't had a craving since then and I am happy for that!!  The hardest part was breaking the routine of waking up every morning and taking 2 pills to start my day...  After 3 weeks cold turkey I woke up and felt somewhat normal again!!  Everyday it only gets better!!

Keep it up everyone!!  It CAN be done!!!  And if you are just starting this journey of getting clean don't give up!!!

Jess :)

I dont know you or really anything about you other than what I read in your profile. I hope that it works out for me the same as it did for you but I am really scared of what I am going to have to go through.. I have read so many different stories and have read up on the addiction so much that it kinda terrifies me. But hopefully I am as strong as you are and I think everything will be ok..

thank you!!  congrats to you too on 4 days!!  the first day of cold turkey w/d was the worst for me.  i got my mom to give me vitamin b12 injections and that helped a lot!!  i was out shopping on day 2!!  still had many moments where fatigue would set in but the vitamin b12 helps!!  so make sure you are taking it in pill form!!  also take a good multi-vitamin!!  i would say i started feeling better with less and less physical w/d symptoms after day 5.  i was still getting moments of fatigue up until week 3.  from week 3 to currently i have been feeling pretty normal again.  keep fighting!!  you can do it!!
