30 days! Need advice though!

today is 30 days clean from NORCO! I've spoken to many of you about the whole xanax problem. I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday.. what should I tell him? Or what should I ask him? For those who don't know the full story, here goes. Started taking Zoloft for anxiety / depression when I got off of the opiates and the doc also gave me Xanax to take for panic attacks / anxiety attacks which I was having a lot. I started taking the Xanax to help me sleep and now im stuck with what feels like a xanax dependancy? I don't think I am addicted to Xanax, I dont even really like how it makes me feel, hence why i take it right before I climb into bed so I dont feeel it i just calmly fall asleep. Anything I might miss during the doc appointment that you can think of that I should bring up to him? Any advice on the xanax? I was given .5mg but now im up to 1mg to even help me sleep. I am also at my WITS END and keep carrying around with me xanax, valium and norco "just in case" i need one. I need to quit doing this to myself! BLAHH... help?!  Thank you in advance, you all are so helpful..

I was recently put on xanax .5 mg 3 times a day also celexa and straterra. I've only been on it for a few days amd I'm not sure which one is making me drowsey. I don't wanna get addicted to these things and from what I've been reading I'm scared I might become dependant on them. They really help me to stay calm. And for the most part I feel like I'm back to my old self again.

Wait, you haven't taken norco for 30 days, but you have them on you?  Way to go!!  You've got to be strong to even do that.
If you need the xanax right now, until you can sleep on your own, I don't see any issues with that... Just try to take 1.5 per night instead of 2, then 1, then eventually half, etc... you only take them for sleep.
Hey personally, if having them on you "just in case" helps, and you're not constantly taking them, I see no problem.
Being on norco can MESS you up, and until you are back to normal, don't feel bad about using non-narcotic "crutches" so that you don't get driven back to norco!
Great job, keep it up.  Eventually you will be drug free. :)

CONGRATULATIONS ON 30 DAYS!! That is wonderful!

1st... flush the norco you are carrying. You don't need it! That is just temptation that you don't need.
Also, ask you doctor for something longer acting anxiety wise...or have you tried just melatonin to sleep? Are you taking xanax ONLY for sleep or is it helping with your anxiety etc.? If it's just for sleep there are plenty of other things you could try.

Again, Congrats! Have a great weekend!

Way to go on 30 days!!!!! WOOOOHHOOOOO!!! That Rocks! You should be so proud. You knew what you had to do to get clean from the Narco and you did it. You go honest with yourself and got the job done. Right? Do the exact same thing with the Xanax and whatever else you are concerned about. Just be honest w/yourself and doctor. You can do it. You are way more powerful than the drugs. You have already proven that.

Rock on and take care

becarfull with the xanax! It is so easy to addicted to...especially if your starting to feel a dependcy and your up to 1mg a day.

I tried xanax before, but the 1/2 life is so short, that when you wake, you tend to have alot of anxiety. That's when I switched to Valium a while back ago, because the 1/2 life is much longer and lot less hard hitting.

Nevertheless, benzo's are so easy to get addicted to, it only takes 1 month of regular use, and your body builds a dependcy..and benzo's are very dangerous to cold turkey...you always have to taper with benzo's.

Just be careful..please.
God Bless,
Todd
