Hi All:
I'm just checking in as I haven't been here for a while. I am doing fine and getting through the grief process from losing my Dad. I am soooo glad that I am able to go through this sober as it has strengthen my resolve to stay clean. I want to thank all of you who have helped me through all my rough spots. I am here to give back to anyone who needs my help as it was given to me by all of these special people. God Bless you all---Rick

Ash is right Rick, I was already thinking of some way to drill them out one at a time through the epoxy.

I was doing spring cleaning in my garage today and I came across a prescription bottle from 2005. In this bottle there were 15 little green pills that use to control my life. I brought them into the house and showed Ash (for those who don't know Ashley is my lovely bride). Ash looked at me and said "So how do you feel about having them in your hand?" I told her I think my Dad is testing me from heaven. Then she asked "So what are you going to do with them?" I told her I was going to pour epoxy into the bottle (with the pills in it)  and keep it as a reminder of the pain the pain meds caused. Ash replied "I understand why you would want to do that but won't you rather flush them and we'll take a picture of them circling the drain" so that's what we did. If she asked me 1 year ago I probably would have keep them but now they are just evil pills to me now and I actually don't need to be reminded of the pain they caused me. It just goes to show that the road to sobriety has many twists, turns and potholes and as addicts we need to learn how to navigate that road in order to make it further down. I felt very empowered by flushing those evil things and I just wanted to share this with everyone. Also it is not easy to navigate the road but if you keep your guard up it makes it easier. God Bless you all---Rick.

All:
Thank you very much for your encouragement it means alot to me. I would not be were I am today without all of you to lean on when I needed it.

Gnarly_1---My back still hurts now and then but I have found doing yoga and core strengthening exercises helps quite a bit.

Once again thank you all and God Bless everyone

so good to hear from you neighbor. you might fish in my inlet.. that is so wonderful to hear 306 days, you can almost say one year.  you deserve a big hug. remember to let yourself continue to grieve over your dad. it is sad..... i lost my dad suddenly almost 3 1/2 yrs ago and there are still many, many times,i cry. i miss him so much. life just isn't the same without him. i hope and pray that you are staying strong in the LORD and continuing to attend church on a regular basis. life is tough and we need the grace, mercy, peace, help and strength we get from the LORD to help us each and every day. i dont' know how people do it (life) without HIM!!!!!!
keep on keeping on, fight the good fight, press on. you got this.
blessings,
debbie

Congrats Rick!  I have just started only Day 9 clean from Lortabs and Percocets...The physical symptoms are pretty much gone, now its just the boredom and depression setting in, and just feeling like everything is dull & flat (dont know how else to describe it)...Everytime I start to do something, like even something minor like watching a tv show, I go to grab for a pill, cos I always had to take one or more first,,,,,,So thats the things that are messing with my mind today,,,,This is my 2nd time trying to quit, the first time I was only clean for 6 wks

Fishing was great therapy for me, stood in a river for most of 14 days. Became one with the fish, caught my first steelhead and then another and another. I now use that memory for one of my power moments.
Congratulations on the 305. You helped me in the past, I'm now over 60 days clean, hurting, but clean. Thanks Rick!
