50 days clean from Methadone!

I'm 50 days clean today & feeling a little better everyday! Energy still gets me down a little some days, but I feel better than I did weeks ago! Wouldnt trade this temporary "low energized" me, for the "methadone" me any day! Feels great to think that I am non-dependant on a daily basis anymore. Sorry I haven't been checking in & posting as much, I have been trying to make the most of the rest of my summer now that i'm feeling better! School starts Tues for me & I am ready to take on this semester, and the WORLD ;) Again, thanks to this site for ALL of your help, everyone here! Jewlz

@Hollaatme: I was on it for about 10 YEARS, seriously. When hurricane Katrina hit, I abruptly had to go cold turkey off of over 120 mg...H.E.L.L. for 3 1/2 weeks & not by choice, so when I was able to return home, I had to put my life back together, so I found what I could to help me get thru, and the cycle began again. Over time since then, I did maintain trying to only take what I needed to, and slowly drop when I felt good enough to drop (I wasn't on the clinic the whole time, only the 1st couple yrs, I had people on the street w/the wafers/pills) so my dose wasn't supervised or anything. "Life" went on, and I was down to about 20 mg last summer when I was fed up & wanting to quit, I found this site, and I just stopped c/t at 20 mg....NOT the right decision for me, and by the 2nd day I was back on, this time getting back on 15 mg. So with school & all, I knew I wouldnt be able to quit till this summer, so I slooooowly tapered since last summer from 15 mg down to 2 mg, with a pill cutter & all, each time letting my body adjust sometimes cutting as little as about .5 mg (estimation) I made it through last year of school with A's & B's and then jumped this summer off of the last 2 mg! Let me just tell you, I believe slow & steady was a BIG key in this time making the difference! It was NOTHING like the terrible withdrawals I once knew. I was uncomfortable at times over the course of last yr, but it was manageable, and made the jump much more bearable. Now, I also did my research on this site, collected everything on "The Thomas Recipe" and "The Amino Acid Protocol" and a few extras, & really prepared myself, and began taking everything about 2 weeks before my jump. This is my story, and hope it can in some way help you in making things more comfortable for anyone else jumping! I'm sure there may be some things left out, but if you have any ??'s just ask!!

@Gnarly: I'm doing good!! With getting up in the morning, it can still be a bit challenging sometimes, but once I take my vitamins/potassium/HTP/Rhodiola/ LTyrosine, I take on the day! Once I get going i'm fine! Still on the natural stuff for sleep, some nights are still broken here & there, but nothing that I can't handle after trying to make up for the last 10 years!! I tell ya, I found an Ambien that I had for a few years, took it one night, slept the best I had in a LOOOONG time, and felt awesome the next day! Energy & all! Guess thats what a good nights sleep will do! lol I thought about going to see a doc for them, but I don't know how addicting they are & I would rather my natural sleep come back on its own, especially since I have come so far without them. Mentally I am good though, just so happy to have overcome the toughest part, the 1st 30 days seemed to drag, but day by day things are looking up now!! And in part thanks to YOU mister!! You have been so inspiring to all!! And I can't thank you enough!!

Thanks y'all! And congrats on YOUR 36 days Methsux! I know around 30 days I was like UGH, is this ever gonna go away?!?! Some days were a bit depressing, but I knew it would soon pass. I soon realized, patience is a virtue, expecially during this process we are going thru! So it really is great to know you are doing awesome!! I was going to wait to brag till I got to 60 days, but there's no telling how fast that day will fly by with me forgetting because i'll be busy with school again! :) So thanks again!! You keep on truckin!!
