Hi there & Welcome :)
First congrats on your taper so far! (Well done!:)
I understand the impulse to make the jump. I got impatient & disgusted & jumped from 28 down from 140. It wasn't the smartest move. The best way to come off of this difficult drug is to taper as far as possible. So, if you can hang on, please do! I would also suggest (if it's your intention), that you come off the meds one by one.
As difficult as acute withdrawal off M'done can be, the real difficulty lies in staying clean in the long run. It's a lifelong journey involving not only an extended process of physical healing but a total reevaluation & overhauling of the way we think, act & engage with ourselves & our environment. It takes determination & hard work but is incredibly rewarding. Do you have any kind of support system?
It's important that you have a wise & comprehensive system in place in order to make this work.
We're here & we're pulling for you! :)
How are YOU doing??
Yes, I remember when I was in the treatment center those young girls where in there for smoking or snorting Heroin. They told me that they would rather jump off a cliff then come off the Methadone. The H is more pure, as far as the opium goes. The Methadone, Subs, Trams are all SO synthetic. The more synthetic they are, the harder it is to get out of your system. Make sure YOU drink, drink and drink tons of fluids. The toxins will try to come out from all over. Bathroom issues, eyes, noses, skin and so fourth. Let it rip and get it all out and then you will start to feel so much better. Stick around and let us know whats going on..WE have many of us that came off the Dones too. It doesn't really matter what opiate it is, but Dones seems to be a bit more intense and longer to rid.
Be Safe!!

Hello & Welcome!
I too came off the methadone plus 2 other meds. Got down from a high dose to 30mg and c/t all 3 at once in 2012. The physical will be over way sooner then the mental. The mental will not hurt, it is just your Brain Chemistry balancing back from the removal of these Stims. Make sure you Drink TONS of fluids and mostly water. You can add lemon, vit/min packets and so forth to your water. Gatorade G2 has less sugar in it. Try to eat as Healthy as you can and take some good vit/min. Do not drink booze because this will make it worse. Try to avoid to many sugars and caffeine at first. The Magnesium, Potassium and D3 will help you relax a bit. You can get some Epsom salt and the Magnesium in that will help draw out the toxins. Lots of Baths. Make sure all your lights, and blinking lights are out and the room is cool for sleep. You will find out what vit/min will help with sleep and relax you at night and ones that will help with energy. There is so many more tips we can give you as you go on down the road. Right now you have those meds that will help..Just be careful NOT to do them to long, as they too are very Addicting. Benzos have to be taped very slowly. I c/t that one too, with the dones and illegal adderral. It was no walk in the park. I did not go to a clinic for my Dones, they where prescribed to me for over 12 yrs after the other opiates did not work for pain. However, that was just my excuse.
Just stick around and keep us updated! May I ask why you where at the clinic? Did you get hooked on something other then Dones?? Like I said, Time & Patience is what it will take to come back around. These meds change both the Body and Chemical makeup of the Brain. Lots of meds do this..Hang in and try to keep yourself re-directed all the time. YOU will be fine. Read some other postings and/or go in and help others. This is what this community is all about. WE have tons of caring and sharing ppl on here. I wish you the best. Also, lots of us have to do aftercare, like AA/NA, Church, Counseling, any Support is better then none. The detox is the easy part..(uncomfortable) but working on staying clean takes some working at every single day for Addicts.
YOU will get through this.
