I think I can = No more Percocets

I have been going through withdrawing from 15-20 5 mg. Percocets and oxycontin if I couldn't get Percocets for 10 days.  I went CT at first but caved on day 3 and took 2.  I have been taking 2 everyday since then and I know for sure now it is just prolonging it as I have been in withdrawals every day but of course not as intense as the first 2 days.  It was the anxiety that got to me the most.  I just had 12 hours of sleep.  I hadn't been sleeping much at all for the last 2 days.  I woke up feeling, happy I slept, but very nauseous and jittery.  I am going to try and go without from now on.  Anyone know what I can expect from here?  It has been about 15 hours since my last 1/2 of Perc.

Wow, this is an old post and when I first found this forum.  It reminds me so well of the fear of withdrawals that we all have when we first decide to quit.
I would imagine that you will have withdrawals and it's very hard to say how bad they will be.  Everyone is different.  Hopefully they won't be too bad for you.  I would suggest that you start a new thread so you can get lots of support.
Also, scroll down to the bottom right of this page and read the Thomas Recipe for some tips to help your through withdrawal.
Just remember that fear is usually the worst part of withdrawal.

Good, sounds like you're just taking it as it comes. I feel like I am trying to catch a bug Kind of stuffy and a slight sore throat. I plan on being pretty lazy today, just getting a few essentials done like laundry and paying some bills online (lol kind of depressing but am thankful I can at least pay them ;)) I hope you have a relaxing Sunday!

So far, so good Minn.  Thanks for checking on me.  I just feel like I have a cold coming on and lots of hot flashes.  Nothing I can't handle so far.  
I didn't sleep all night but I had a good sleep yesterday.  Of course I am very tired but just trying to relax and take it easy.  I feel much better mentally and am so thankful I haven't been depressed.  I have been through that and it was horrible.  My biggest concern is the anxiety but that only seems to set in when I go over 30 hours without sleep.  So tonight may be tough but I will just keep posting.

Hi pat, I hope this finds you getting at least a little rest. Ugh, for some reason I don't sleep as much as I used to, which is okay, but I have bouts of insomnia once in a while. Bleh, didn't get much sleep last night. Stayed up pretty late, too. I reckon part of it is just my getting older. Anyhoo, just wanted to say hi and see how it's going. Take care :)

I am awake gnarly and thanks for checking in on me.  It means so much.  I feel good because I have made it through 24 hours without anything.  I know there is more crap to come but I will be posting..  Last time I caved on day 3 and was almost there so I think I am much more educated this time.

HWY Pat how goes it?? it a little past 1 here in phx az are you sleeping or up usually sleep is impossible wile detoxing I just wanted to encourage you if you are up to hang in there it can be tuff getting threw the nights I found prayer to be helpful .....when it 3 am and your up shaking Gods all you got a hot soak is helpful also temember to force the fluids and I tell everybody ....''you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile'' this to shall pass remember to keep a positive attitude this is a battle one or lost in ones own mind keep posting for support good luck and God bless.........Gnarly

lol, same here. If you weren't a Leaf fan in our house you had to move out.  My dad loved all sports so I have a big love for them too.  I wonder if it was Keon or Henderson that your dad has framed?  Anyway, you are forgiven Steve.  So far I am staying strong.  Surprising myself even.

My dad's team used to be the Toronto Mapleleafs. He has a framed poster of a player from the '70's that for the life of me I can't remember the name. He played hockey himself from the time he was a kid through high school. I got my love of hockey from him. When I was very young I would sit on his lap and watch games with him. Between that and football I learned a lot of interesting words and yes, I am a yeller ;-)

Steve, I am female so I am your sister not your brother lol.   Minn I live in Canada and love hockey.  My Leafs aren't in the playoffs but I am cheering for the Ottawa Sens and they won tonight.  Love hockey, especially the playoffs. I sure wasn't as interested in it when I was taking pills so I am hoping to get alot of my old interests back.

I used to watch hockey games with my dad. He's from Quebec. I call myself a " rednecanuck. " ;) I go to Predators games when I get the chance. Funny how big of hockey fans we are here in Smashville. Glad you enjoyed the game whether you were there or not :)

So far, so good.  I of course, am having all the symptoms that I have been having the last 10 days but so far tolerable.  I even escaped into a hockey game and cheered. I have gone about 20 hours without the demon and it feels good to say that.

i was addicted to opiates(PILLS) for 6 years, i only missed two days in those years. I couldnt take my life anymore so i stopped.th efinding ways and means to get more had me going insane. the withdralws were terrible just the same as a heroin addict. I have been in na for 5 years and have not used any drug or alcohol. Its a new way of life one with freedom from active using . good luck and be blessed
