All my friends re: sister

FINALLY got a call from my sister's husband.  He has been out looking for her and somehow he found her.  She was w/ the 2 girls plus one additional - I guess they were staying at this girls apartment in Richmond.  At any rate, she is on her way to a facility in Northern Virginia.  She says she is willing to commit to a long term stay.  She should be arriving there within the hour.  Hopefully he doesn't lose her again.  Y'all continue to pray.  As long as she is safe and in a facility, I feel like there is hope.  Where there is life there is hope, and I am so glad to have those kids!   I am starting the older boys counseling next week, and I want to attend some myself.  My plan is no contact and not to see her until she is 100% clean and seems committed to staying that way.  Am I handling this correct?  Thanks to all for your prayers and good wishes.

I will definitely do that - great idea and I would have never thought of it.  Her husband says right now she seems really determined to give it a go, so keep fingers crossed and prayers lifted!

I agree - i think the only time that they can "force" rehab is if you are in trouble with the law - i was busted for pot and had to attend meetings and had to do **** tests and if you failed well - jail ect...  so i would call like maw said.

You might want to contact the facility she is going to and ask if you or her husband can be notified in advance if she decides to leave the rehab, or is asked to leave. Those places aren't prisons, and as far as I know, no one can be forced to stay in rehab, and if they break rules or are uncooperative, they can be asked to leave. I pray for the sake of her family that she will take advantage of the help being offered her.

It has been tough but if this works, it will be so worth it.  Hopefully she will think of that daughter and that will be a big motivator for her.  If anyone knows of anything I can do to help her or her family, please let me know.  This is new to me....

yes you have handled this great. she needs this rehab and now you can have at least a bit of peace knowing she will be staying there. i really hope this saves her and she will have you to thank. sometimes people need to be forced to get help. best of luck to you.

most rehabs will not allow contact for at least 30 days, then phonecontact only for next 30, some are different. i hope she makes it there , and stays there. Im glad she is finally willing to give it  a try, and i hope that now things will get easier for you, much love..
