I need help. If you dont already know my selfish repetitive annoying story here's the short version. I have been on 15mg of methadone for about 7 months now. And I want out! I have a beautiful baby and am so scared to reach out to a dr for help due to cps and no one else knowing of my current addiction. I'm so scared of the sickness that comes with quitting. If I go to a dr what will happen. Will they call cps. I know there's probably No way of knowing all of this for sure but I have to have some peace of mind. I want out of this lifestyle. I wana be me again.

Hi, lynn, sober mom and grandma too here. I only have a little under six months under my belt. The addiction hit me later in life, so my children, one of whom will be 18 soon and the other who is almost 27 knew something was wrong. I am glad you want to stop this before your wee one is old enough to understand. There may be things I don't know, but if your little one is well taken care of and you are seeking help, I understand your fears yet believe that cps wouldn't intervene. Sarah is spot on. I came off of 5 to 7 hydros a day, which comparatively speaking may not seem like much, yet addiction is addiction. We have to go through the wd, and it stinks. I believe you want this and can do it. Fear is so hard to overcome, yet if we don't face it, it will control our lives.

I am a recovering addict who is also a mom and grandma.  Please dont let CPS hold you back from getting some help.  You are at a greater risk if you dont do something.  I know you dont like the wd's but none of us do.  The longer this goes on the worse it will be.  Your body and mind needs to heal and that is why you feel like sh!t.  There is only one way to go with this and that is thru it.  Only you can stop this insanity.  When will it be enough?  We are all here for you.
