Bad Restless Legs!

Bad Restless Legs!

I think I could deal with the withdrawals if it weren't for the restless legs... that to me is the very worst and right now they are killing me does anyone know any way to make them stop? Or at least not be so bad?

Hylands restless leg stuff at the pharmacy or maybe the grocery. I was going to get some myself. I saw someone talking yesterday about how well it really did work..Worth a try...

Hi, In the past the Hylands worked w/ok results for me. This time i used everything i had ever read about. I have to say for me the RLS was mild to moderate at worst.Try...

1. Tonic water ( I switched back and forth drinking only gatorade and tonic for the first week. You might wanna pick up some juice to mix w/the tonic it doesn't taste very good.

2.  Bananas (I ate 1-2 a day. For potassium. They say potassium is good for RLS..IDK

3. Hylands restfull legs ( I took it every 3-4 hours even if i didnt need it)

4. Exercise. ( I swam, but i think the idea is to wear your legs out.

I cant say any one thing worked better than the other. I just figured none of this could hurt you, why dont do it all. I too HATE RLS. Good luck .I hope this helped

You got some good advise and all of those things will help ease the rls, nothing really makes it stop for the first few days. In addition to the above, I used heat on my calves and actually wrapped them in ace bandages. Stupid as it sounds, I was willing to do anything and it did help.

Hang in there, it only lasts a few days and it will be over.

Funny you mention ace bandages. I didn't get hit in the legs but the arms. And I wrapped them with ace bandages and adding that pressure seemed to help it some.

I did get some relief by taking baths, as hot as I could stand, and as soon as I got out put the ace bandages on and got in bed. Do not get them too tight. Try this with the others mentioned above and it should help some.

Good Luck!

I agree with big...Stick a banana in your mouth, wrap ace bandages on your legs and jump in the tub!! lol For me, the rls was the worst and I would have tried, and did try, anything!!

One thing--don't give up!! Let us know how you are doing.

I started taking calcium/magnesium/zinc tablets twice a day, and they completely stopped the restless legs problem for me.

II have tried everything, baths, lotions, lavender, walks different vitimins relaxation tapes I could go on and on. If you want more information go the the restless leg symdrome society website. They are the ones who have helped me and they specialize in that area. hope that helped some
