Best detox program ever

Before the big advice... a little background:  I have had multiple spinal fusions and due for another in a few days (so I can continue to walk).  I had not been keeping up with the growing opinion in Florida that the DEA and other legal institutions were better able to decide what medical attention was best, nor did I know that if you go to an emergency room (for back pain) that you've been frequenting since the 1990's while seeing a dr., even if you tell the e-room doc. that you have a doc. they can play police officer and have you arrested as a drug seeking doctor shopper.  Doctors enforce laws, and law institutions are now doctors.  The case has been dismissed so please don't think it is the ramblings of an irate inmate.... the point being I was in jail for a day and a half with no pain meds.  When I told the "nurse" what I take daily: 3 oxycontin and up to 4 percocet for breakthrough she gave me four ibuprofin.  Well, my wonderful initiation into detox came by... while locked up.  I didn't sleep but I really didn't notice the symptoms.. my recommendation is if you can't detox at home.... go to jail. (all this did happen but, it is all in good humour.... everything on my end is fine and I hold no grudges. Everyone involved did what they thought was best.  I did however have really bad rls or "jimmy legs" which seems to be in everyone's case.

An update:  went back to the hospital this past thursday night and got out sunday morning.  The pain has increased.... unfortunately (the dr. did say this was possible)... the worst part was I work up with an infection, running a temp of 104.1,  my wife called the rescue, they got me there in time and I spent about 4 days on i.v. antibiotics.  As muchas I hate to say it,  it looks like responsible pain mngmt is in store for me for the rest of my life.  The great news: I have turned over all my meds (she used to be in the medical profession) to my wife who gives them to me on time with the right amount only.  If they aren't working, she schedules appt. with my pain dr. and he sets the appt. to see what else can be done. I once believed only sissy men took anything above bayer aspirin,  and that only if they just cut their arm off.... I know alot better now.   I also know the best of us can get trapped in the only one extra now, I'll take one less later.  My wife is my angel and with her.... my pain can finally be managed legally, morally, and without the addictive behavior that has destroyed so many great men and women.... I'll update again as I know more.... thank you all for caring and for asking.... more friends that anyone has a right to ask for.....spartan  (If you know history or watched the movie "300"... I am no longer fighting in the shade,  now it is shield to shield and may the best spartan  win......

I went in this past tuesday and did a 3 segment fusion, nerve decompression, and cleaned out the best they could on my ever narrowing spinal canal.  To say it hurts would be to say "I just won the lottery, now I can by a 20 ounce pepsi and a candy bar." Ooooooooooooh Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhh!  It hurts!  Dig It! (Macho Man Randy Savage reference.. may he rest in peace).  I went 8 days before surgery pain med free, took no supplements,  other than immodium (for the obvious) and magnesium salicylate for nerve and muscle pain.  The worst of the dt's for me where the insomnia and jimmy legs which didn't bother me as much due to the excruciating back pain. I am now on a wife monitered pain regiment and I couldn't be happier.  I want all  of you (everyone here) you are an inspiratoin..you go thru so much it staggers my imagination.  Well, gotto go,  the valium is saying hi and wants to meet me in bed.  I love you all and will talk to you soon!
