please help me

I'm a mother of 2 boys, ages 8 & 2, sole provider & no one knows my struggle to get off suboxone, not even my children's father/bf.  I'm on the verge of losing everything. Please give me advice on ways to ease wd symptoms. I'm literally taking crumbs at this point, and they're almost gone, no access to any more. I cannot miss any work, it's just not an option. Thank you so much for any advice

If you're the only provider, and unless your boyfriend/husband is Disabled, then he needs to put on his big-boy pants and get a JOB. You need financial and emotional support right now.

I think you should be in rehab, and you're boyfriend/husband needs to take care of your little ones. I think your courage to try to quit says a lot about your emotional strength. However, rehab (inpatient) would be very helpful for you.

You need to take care of YOU at the moment, and other people should be stepping up to take care of the other parts of your life while you get clean.

You sound like a thoughtful and hardworking person, and I wish you all the best

I made the jump Friday off subs . I tapered down to crumbs, I was so scared of withdrawal BC I have WD 2x before off percs and methadone. The first few days was the hardest but still not bad the worst was rls and insomnia from rls.  Finally slept good ln and feel tremendously better today. You can get through this. Definitely take the vitamins b12,vitamind, potassium and iron help with rls also. I know what you feel like scared to death but keep telling yourself you can do this you got this your in control!! Get some sleep aids otc
.
Sending prayers and strength and keep us posted.. Sean

I was on pain meds for 4 years, and then suboxone for 4 as well. The key for avoiding bad withdrawal symptoms with either in my own experience is to taper down. I tapered down to .5 miligrams of subutex a day for a week, and when I then jumped off the withdrawal symptoms were very mild, almost completely subsiding by day 5 or 6. It does get better, i promise.

Thank you so much for your support. I feel so lost right now and your kind words have given me the strength to keep pushing. I know this won't be an easy thing to get through, but it's the most important step I'll ever take in my life. I can't give up!! Thanks again.

We have ALL been there! I let my Husband down a few times! What you are doing and going through is to benefit your ENTIRE family by being the Mother and wife you should be! Forget the past, you can change it so all you can do is move forward. I think your husband will be more understanding than what you think and he probably already has a good idea that you were deep in addiction. We are not ourselves on drugs!
If you dive in now then you can get it all out if the way. Sorry sweetie but if your on crumbs now then all your doing is prolonging a process that you MUST get through to be clean! As many people here will say, the only way around the Wd is through them.
You can do this!!! We have all been EXACTLY where you are! Keep posting.. I want to see you beat this!!

I'm here...you're right, I already feel horrible, I might as well go for it! I really appreciate all the advice. I know I need to fess up to husband, I've already let them down so much already. I feel like he's going to give up on me. This addiction has made me into such a weak person, I want my old life back!!!

You sound very dedicated! Again, I do not have personal experience w Sub.... But I am a nurse and I worked in pain mgmt for years and went through some extensive training on the drug.

I think your going to have to take a leap of faith and make the jump. I literally have read here recently of people jumping on a MUCH higher dose! What do you have to lose? Your already feeling WD symptoms now right!? If you dive in now, then you can get it all out of the way instead of prolonging the inevidentable. There is no way around the WD except through them. I TRULY  feel that your not going to feel much worse if you jump now! Can you play the flu card? Your going to feel a lot like you have the flu. Load yourself up on vitamins. Get a good Multi-vit and I personally reccomend vit B-12 sublingual as well. It is a metabolism booster! I do 2500mcg daily. It's the cherry kind that melts under your tongue. You can do Immodium for the diarrhea and for nausea there's an OTC med called Dramamine. It's actually for motion sickness and it works wonders!! Your going to feel bad for a little while but you just have to set yourself in " warrior mode "  and bear down through it! Force feed yourself it you must, as that's the fuel for your body, and drink as much water as possible.  I can tell in your last post that you want this!! I would also suggest talking to your Husband about it so that he understands more of what your going through. Your going to need all the support you can get to really conquer this this thing.  It's also good in your long term recovery to have someone hold you accountable! It's hard, everyone here has been through this but I promise you it is so worth it! Beat this thing while your boys are young and your not waking up one day with their childhood a blur! You CAN DO THIS!! You came here and that's your first step! Next step is making that jump and it can be done! Keep posting an we will get your through!!

There's nothing in my life I want more than to be free of this addiction. I'm just so scared! My sons deserve better, I deserve better. I do not have chronic pain. Started taking hydros/percs and there was no way I could keep up w/ my tolerance, financially. Subs have saved my life, I'm just ready to feel normal again. I'm currently going thru some wds, so scared to jump tho! I've taken sub 4 years, anywhere from 16 mg a day to 1-2 mg. Supply has dwindled down, no more than 1 mg last 2 weeks.

Hello and welcome!
You have come to a wonderful place for support and advise.

I do not have any personal experience w Subs but others whom do will chime in. It's helpful if you tell us a little bit more about your history. Do you WANT to quit for good? How long have you been on them and why are you on them? Were you taking another drug prior? Are you currently going through WD now and if so how are you feeling? If your taking crumbs, are you willing to make the jump and stop now? Sadly, there's no way through WD's except through them but if you can tell us a little more about your history and how your feeling now then we can help you through them.

Hang in there okay?
