Getting better

After tapering down to 1 per day from 6-8 Oxy 40's for the past 10yrs in less than a week,  I had a good start then had a couple of horrible days of wd where I thought my world was coming to an end. Today I forced myself back on to my bike and rode for a couple of hours with many breaks and I'm glad I did. Otherwise I would have laid on the couch all day and made myself worse. I aint saying it was easy but at the end of the day I have something to be proud of. My mornings have been the worst, not wanting to get out of bed but I'm focused on getting through this and at the same time I have a new hobby to go with my new healthy lifestyle.

Never give up people, I'm proof that a 10yr addict can change his ways.

Steve  p.s. Anyone have experience mounting a bucket to a set of handlebars?

I'm so glad to hear that you got back on the old bike yesterday!! I remember that my mornings were horrid and it was so hard for me to do anything other than lay around and watch TV, but boy did I ever feel better when I would just make myself get off the couch and walk my dogs!! Keep moving!!

PS~I don't know anything about putting a bucket on bicycle handle bars......sorry!!

good for you, i agree getting yourself up and doing it is sooo hard but you do feel better after. i walked alot in the firsts days, and thought i wouldnt make it but i did. the mornings were also the worst, i would wake a feel oh dang another day of fighting myself to stay on track, but it does get better and turns around. just sitting and feeling all the aches and pains (body and mind) can beat you up. keep riding and do anything to keep busy. in the begining i would do stuff to stay busy and still kinda find my mind go to the wrong place but as everyday i would do stuff i used to do and new stuff the bad thoughts didnt come as much. you hang in there, you soo have the right mind frame,
