Clonidine question

Hi, I am on day 4 without any codeine, I am doing w/d on my own in secret. My doctor thinks I am just suffering from anxiety and prescribed me some Ativan (1mg) which helps, but I only have a week's supply. My question is, I managed to get some clonidine tablets, before I take these, will they help with anxiety? Anxiety is my biggest problem right now. But I do not have high blood pressure ( which I think the tablets are prescribed for). Will this give me even lower blood pressure and is that dangerous ? From what I understand, you take one tablet in the morning and one in the evening but must not stop taking them suddenly as it could be dangerous. This is scaring me but I really need something as I  am so anxious I am finding it difficult to cope at the moment ( I have 2 young kids). Any advice would be gratefully received, thank you xxxxx

Well, I just took half a .15mg clonidine cos I was so anxious. Maybe my bp is high after all, my heart is racing with the anxiety, so maybe it will be ok ? I hope this calms me down, I have sweats, diarrhoea too. Thanks !

I am not a doc, that said, I don't see a problem whatsoever of taking it... I think that the WD's raise you BP maybe you should check it if you have a machine at home??  It does works wonders for me (did) and it is prescribed for WD's.  The thing of it is, doctors love it when we "come clean" with them and usually will protect your privacy....

Yes they help with everything including anxiety.  Pesonally, I think you should tell your doc the problem you are having with the codine.  Then he can help you with a plan.
