Clonidine

anyone have any info on using Clonidine .1 mg for opiate withdrawal systems? Suppose to be a high blood pressure
medication, but says it can be used for withdrawal systems too? wondering if it really works?

Good day, clonidine works very well when coming off of opiates. That is what they gave me during my 8 days of detox and after 54 days I use it at night to help me rest. It really works well and I would call it a miracle drug as well. Just only use .1 and no more than that, but it all depends on what your doctor says too. Rest assured it works well and helps very much with withdrawals, it slows you down, but not to a degree where you are zombi like, just enough to take the edge off of things, Wish you well, mike in nc

thanks, i just got it today, he gave me a week supply, 4 a day. This is my 2nd day off
opiates, I took 1 clonidine about 4 hrs ago, I still have the RlS real bad, hope this med
takes care of that too.

I am on day twelve and my doc told me to take the clonindine cuz I was feeln very nervous and my bp went up. I hope it calms me dwn some

Neurontin can stop the RLS symptoms and help with pain.  It is a prescription and I was told you should start low and then build on the medication.  However, it all depends on what your doctor thinks.

It worked for me, however, it did have some side effects and I can't take it anymore.

It did get me through the RLS as well as the pain from the withdrawal.  

There are some over the counter things you can try and for some, these medications seem to work very well.  I'm sure someone will write with the information.
