Cocaine addiction and damaged nose

I have been using coke for about 8 yrs give or take and have developed a hole in my septum and when I look up my nose with a mirror, it looks like my left nostril is closed. It feels good the harder I blow my nose everyday especially in the morning and scab like bugers and thick white mucus build up in my nose. I have decided to go see a ENT and see what is going on up there. That's not even to mention the finacial stuff.. I have been taking advantage of many of times because of my habit. Any words of encourgement , Self stories, Ideas, support etc. Please share with me ...

May I ask a question? I found out my 24 year old daughter was using for the past 5-7 months because a few months ago we found a blood riddled tissue in her car. She told me she has been clean for about a month. She went to get her nose pierced yesterday and the place had to car ems because she was bleeding so badly. Does that mean she is still using or is that an effect of doing this for so many months?

Yip, i tried healing my nose, thinking that the saline solution would sort it all out.  Then i went to meetings, hated those pathetic people, relapsed over and over and over and now am going back.  i want a life of natural energy and real people.

Thats the first part of this recovery gig, is wanting to quit.
OK these are only suggestions you do what you want you will any way
1. Be honest ( with your self first)
2. Get rid of all connections phone numbers. Let them know your intentions to quit (if you want too) ( this is kind of a funny one but some respect that, and you are setting your intentions into motion
3. Don't hang with people that use. (I have had problems with this family & old friends)
4. Go to meetings  aa/ca/na get involved (help others)(get a sponsor)(DO THE STEPS)
5. This is most important ( Its only one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time just don't use today one day at a time. We are here to help you Good luck my friend.

Yup, alcohol can bring on the worst coke cravings so I would suggest you stop drinking. We have to take steps and make some changes to stay clean. I remember that even after just 2 drinks, the craving for coke hit so hard and so fast that I just couldn't stay clean.

The good news is you are asking for help and sounds like you have had enough of this. You need to stay away from those that use man. Have you thought about any type of aftercare such as N/A, counsellor etc, it can do wonders.

Glad to see you want to quit and that you are getting yourself checked out.  I was a speed freak along with being a pot head and a lover of Jack Daniels.  Gotta admit the booze was always my favorite.  When I couldn't get any speed my drinking escalated big time.  I found myself substituting one for the other.  Just something to keep in mind.  I couldn't do one and not do the others.  Also checking out some mtgs like the other post said.  I go to AA mtgs and they have helped me a great deal.  Best of luck!!!

the first drug i ever did was coke,i only had one side of my nose to begin with because of having surgery when i was younger i have a block on my right side so yea anyways i remember the horrible after math of using how sore my nose/throat would be not to mention the emotional spin afterwards,my heart is reaching out for you because i know that none of us wanted to become addicts,we have all made bad decisions that is why we are all here,but we are all here for support and advice we are all going through the same thing regardless of our D.O.C we are all addicts asking for help,i wish you the best of luck,i believe that you are serious and really want to stop using,so i believe that you will If you ever just need a friend to talk to i am here i too am very new into recovery and have found talking to others like me has helped alot,look here i'm now replying to peoples post 6days ago i was just a scared 23yr old who didnt know what was going on in her head,and now i can sit here and tell others that i know that it does get better,it gets easier everyday,meetings and counseling also because getting clean is only half the battle,staying clean is the rest!!!!!!!!! good luck and keep us all posted. p.s have you tried some like triple neosporin oitment or anything???

Thank You both. I don't just want to quit .. I NEED to quit. I am blessed to still have a job . I have been there almost 2 years and I am hanging on by a thread . I have decided to start working OT and find other activities to do, because as soon as I get some free time that wild hair comes along , especially when mass amounts of alcohol are involved

I too damaged my septum from coke. Glad your going to see an ENT, but I believe the hole in your nose is the least of your worries right now. This drug is doing so much more damage to your heart, your nervous system and brain. Do you want to stop? Stick around this is a great support group.

P.S. Although I thought it was impossible to stop using blow, with a lil bit of help I have done it and so has mikchez above. Life is better clean! Good luck.

go to meetings Cocaine anonymous, AA,NA get help only if you want to! if you don't don't ! Addicts find ways to use. Do you want to quit using ? or just heal you nose I'm curious
