Coffee??

So tomorrow it will be 1 week since I have taken a pill and for the first time today I got up and made a pot of coffee. Is it normal that I honestly feel like I can fun for miles and my heart is racing after 1 cup?? Does this have something to do with not having the vicodin in my system?

I dont want to feel wired lol. I just wanted a little bit of energy since I havent had any the past week but holy cow that one cup of coffee had me all jittery. I think being off the opiates opened my senses. everything tastes better, smells better (other then the dirty dishes i had) and I react differently to things now.

I found a packet energy drink that works better than coffee. cheaper, easier and has a few other ingredients that help me workout for 2 - 3 hours. being oldish and achy I needed that extra boost that opiates gave me. I don't advertise for any one so will give you details if you ask.

Just make decaf - you'll still get the great smell of the coffee in the morning and you get the taste as well.

everytime i come to the forum u are one of my favs to follow. I typed a gazillion words to u 2 days ago and wondered, still wonder, hows things? the non subject that is?
Adn I responded the same way to coffee when i stopped opiates. I waited a few days and drank some and was jittery wired. Thing is, before I used opiates half a cup would be my limit. People who really know me ask if I've been drinking coffe abd then ask how much when I jabber.
Point is I was super sensitive to everything after detox. Even foods I'd eaten for years tasted weird. Maybe your system is still adjusting. I think it is.
Are you done worrying? sure ya are right?

I too started back with coffee after a couple of weeks If I remember right.
I didn't get the lift you did. I love the taste and smell. I haven't had any problems so far.

I would be careful with the coffee, it may make your stomach upset.  Drink hot tea, it has caffene.  I found that peppermint tea really help my stomach.

Thank you. I was just curious, I have not been eating much since I stopped taking the vicodin and when I started to get all jittery and wired I got nervous.

scared,

I did not comment because I did not experience this.  I was unable to eat much less drink coffee for about 2 weeks after I detoxed.  i had my first cup when I came back to work in January and do not remember it making me feel speedy or racy.  Maybe you made it too strong. lol
