Very good advice on this thread.   I totally agree with the majority -  Stay away from the Sub --- been there - done that - bought the T-shirt,  Sub is a living nightmare to come off of -  Bite the bullet -- taper if you must, but stay away from thinking that Sub will be your answer - - Almost all of us who have done it say the same thing.  All the best.

I first started on vicodin a few years ago because of a back injury...was upped to roxy's and mixed vicodin in between roxy's....I quit cold turkey 25 days ago and I can honesly tell you that it wasn't as bad as what I thought it would be...yes, you feel like the flu...sleep was the hardest part...I forced myself to work, ride the bike, swim. whatever to took to make it through....I did it all the the Glory of God and Jesus!  Now I sit here drug free and I am so happy...I don't know about sub but from what I've read and seen first hand you are only trading on addiction for another....sometimes the easy road is not the best road...but that's just one persons opinion so you do what your comfortable with and I will pray you through this valley...there is light at the end I promise you that :)

I agree with sad, try without replacing first...I know you are scared, but you will be in a place that they can help you, and give you tools to use. etc...I was up to 20 10mg a day, , and it was not fun, but not as bad as you may think....now, of course everyone is different, but you can do this....I pray that you can find the strenght to do this...Dig deep and fight hard...It will pass, and life gets so much better...
good luck

Sub was touted as a miracle drug a month or so ago here and now people are seeing what can happen when you stay on it for any period of time. ALL THE BEST

Stay away from the sub...trust me and the majority here...I've worked in a rehab facility and the sub is so bad to get off of. It's scary and in order to do this, you have to be ready and have made your mind YOU WILL SUCCEED. Hydros, vicoden and  lortab. Most people have flu like symptoms for w/d, but other symptoms can be worse, as you seem aware.. but it depends on your dose, frequency and how long you've been on them.

Remember, when the drugs are stopped, the body needs time to recover. Go for it, do this for yourself, you can do it. Dont do it 1/2 a$$ because if you go even a few days of harsh w/ds, and get as far as going 2,3,4, 7, 14, 30, 80 days, don't put yoursself back in that situation. Life has more to offer for you. And once you are out of rehab, look up NA or SMART recovery. NA has done wonders for me.

Good luck to you!!!

I am going to tell you straight up...NO the w/ds from hydros (vicodin, lortab) is not near as bad...you will have a bad week,,,and then you get better all the time..Please don't take the sub...most people that write about it here seem to not be taking it as they should and are staying on it way toooo long..I am sure they will disagree ,but whatever. I have been a member since Jan and was lurking since November...I have seen nothing posted that makes a good argument to take sub...You can do this...listen..being afraid of the w/ds is what keeps us in this constant battle...please trust me..stopping what your doing now and just gritting your teeth through the first 4-5 days,is a small price to pay for being rid of this..by taking sub..you are just jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire...as for those that are going to be offeded about that...well it's ok..this is my opinion...you can do this...
