Comfort Zones

I decided to get out of my comfort zone and start yoga with my daughter at my tender age of 60!  wow, who knew I could to something new.  Am I good at it...lol....NO.  Am I enjoying it...YES!  I could never have done it on the devil pills!  Never would have tried.  I am not like a lot of those that have posted...I never really took them to get high.  I took them to stay mellow and not deal with life.  Well, I guess life is gonna have to get ready for me, cause I am gonna take another look at it.  I just wanted to post...I hope I can help and I hope I can be there for others as they have been for me!  I want to thank those that have walked this walk with me and hope I can continue to grow and become the person I once was..only better!!!!!

I have a BIG A** smile on my face right now!  Yoga has been a HUGE part of my recovery.  I am thrilled you are giving it a shot as I've seen it transform so many lives.  My heart is glad right now reading your words of hope and resilience...I'm so proud of you.  Keep taking steps on this brave new path, your heart's desires will be realized.

Wow!!!!! That's what life is supposed to be about. You don't take your stuff with you when you die; you take what you did, where you went, who you loved...and in your case, learning how to impersonate a pretzel.

Happily, my daughter is my teacher and she knows about my back issues.  We are taking it really slow.  We worked on breathing today and some simple chair and mat stuff.  I was able to do more than I thought.  My upper body strength s u c k s and my poor skinny wrists hate it, but I think it is gonna be OK.  We are doing private for now and when I can I will join her classes as I feel I can!  Thanks, for all the great support!  I am smiling right now and that is a wonderful thing.

Well littlebit, I think we have come full circle here. Sort of.   When you first started posting here, you were concerned about doing yoga because of your back.  And I answered you, telling you how much I loved yoga and what a great experience it is.  BUT, If you have a back issue, you may want to go slow, or start with some other form of exercise, as certain types of yoga can be hard on the back.  And for that, you gave me a best answer - I believe your family had been pressuring you a bit about exercising, and when I brought up the back issue, and going slow, and I'm quoting you here, you wrote "Bless you".

I think it'll be awesome for you..
