Constipation

People please forgive me if I'm being grose but I've got to ask this. Everytime I go #2 which is not very often I feel like I'm pushing the kitchen sink out my rear OUCH !!!!!!!!!!  I bought some Laxative Pills but then after reading the warnings decided not to take them. These were sennosides - Stimulant Laxative. How can I soften my stool? I have some mineral oil, should I swallow some of that? It says on the bottle to only take them at night though? Why is this? Thanks for any answers and relief.

when i was taking hydro's it was bad...i started taking sufa 2 capsules a day...it is OTC, and now kaopectate makes it.
I have always had problems there even before pills, i see a specialist and have the pleasure of having to do a scope every yr lol...he recommends that because it is natural and good on the body...makes you just regular, normal...hopes this helps
It is red capsules, and not very expensive, worth ever penny..

Are you on or off the pills? Constipation is a very very well known side effect of opiates. The natural cure for constipation is fiber. Metamucil, etc. Senokot is a natural one too I think. There's a new one out called Miralax, too. Stopping the pills will make a regular change, too :)

Before i quit pills this was my biggest problem ! I COULD NOT GO  1 or 2 and 1 i could only going sitting down (weird) i'm a guy.  So i started taking Ducolex 2 at a time miralex all of it but you know what helped QUITTING i go twice a day now its GREAT i just cant imagine where was it all going? I now know it was inside me building up with all those toxins scary thought so thats my story on that BUt i know how bad it feels to not be able to go
please quit youre worth it

even more I don't like to say this but if you dont start drinking tons more water than your drinking your going to get impacted and then you will really have a problem..........

Oh my god. I remember the folks in the nursing home that were impacted the nurse had to digg them out. Thanks for reminding me. I'm on the water now. Is it 6 8oz glasses a day or 8 glasses a day?

In health shops or even in some supermarkets here in australia, you can get something called psyllium husks, cheaper than the pre-prepared Metamucils etc - mix teaspoon with water, drink down, makes a gelatinous form that really helps the situation at the other end. Taste is bland/woody.

Beach - what do you  mean water makes it impacted pls? I drink lots of water bec all the ibuprofen I am taking seems to give me periods of big thirst with not much pee, then lots and lots of weeing, then thirst again. I too have been having problems with comfortable elimination.

funny how we take 50,000 narcotics but read the box of a laxative and are afraid to take 2 pills.  Take a stool softener......laxatives can be rough.

I could not agree with you more. It's funny you say that because I thought to myself... This is ridiculous that I could not take the laxatives but I can shovel down 3 times the maximum amount of tramadol and not even worry about it. Addiction is insane.

I've never pushed out a kitchen sink, but it doesn't sound all that enjoyable!! ...........mtetamucil 3 times a day, and a lot of water. You'll be able to set your clock by those 3' Deuces you'll be enjoying! Give it a 2 or 3 days

I just read an article about constipation last night, its something I having Fibromyalgia struggle with even off of pills. It said that the food and stuff starts realeasing toxins in our blood stream and the stuff that builds up in our colon and intestines becomes a carcinogin and can cause colon or rectal cancer..  

if that doesn't make you wanna quit pills I don't know what will...

There are stool softeners you can take (OTC). There's also OTC enema kits which, while may be horrifying to contemplate, are better than suffering through that kind of agony. You should take this seriously. You can do damage and tearing to yourself which can lead to a history of hemorrhoids later in life. (ouch!!!)  :)

Oh Savas I had hemroids every since I was 13. I'm 42 now and have lived with those out breaks occasionally. I hear you though. It sure is not helping them at all.
