i have been taking pain pills for 3 years,i take about 10 pills a day of hidros 10s please i need help i want my life back with out pills..

shelby.. I understand what you are saying so well.. active addiction robs is of our very lives we only exists for our next fix and counting out pills throughout the day.. Being outside, the freedom of leaving my home.. the desire to leave my home I'm just grateful I found the spark that has set me free.. I hope your Holiday is filled with love and laughter.. lesa

Coming off of the pills is a commitment, you have to be mentally ready for the discomfort of it, and yes, there will be discomfort. But you will find that once you have made it through the discomfort, you will feel more alive than you have in a long time. The big question is, do you want to taper down the dosage or quit cold turkey?

I think my greatest pleasure has been feeling the sun on my face again...I cringe to think of the days I barricaded myself in my room.  I didn't care about anything...not my family, friends, nothing.  Scratch that...I did care about one thing.  What time could I take my next pill?  How many could I take?  How long will they last?  Such a waste...such an absolute waste.  I am so grateful for everyday now.  I pray that everyone else here finds that.  Great post by the way!!! :)

Welcome to the forum.. I'm glad you found us !! It is totally doable getting off the pills and when you do the change in ourselves is amazing.. You really do not realize how much of life our addictions smother.. Hearing the birds sing has been my greatest pleasure !! There are over the counter meds that help with wd us for support a attitude that you can conquer anything and you will be on your way.. Please stick with us keep reading and gain the courage to make the leap to Freedom.. we will all be here to support you in what ever way we can.. Life outside of addiction is full and gratifying and rediscovering who we are and feeling deep emotions besides thinking of our next fix is a blessing.. I wish you well on your journey..
