I am totally addicted to vicoden.I finally admitted it to my doctor that I was waaaaaaaaaay out of control and just made arrangements for 7-10 day detox starting Sept 22. Dam that was difficult. I believe they mentioned a med called suboxone that I will be on,and i am wondering if this isnt going to be  a vicious circle cuz I have heard that also is highly addicted.Anyone, know about this???Any comments at all will make me happy. Heck, just writing this made me happy that I have actually admitted my problem.Thanks for listening!!! Noella

WOW!!   You should be so darn proud of yourself to admit this to your doctor...that takes alot of courage!!!  you can do this!!  
What were you taking ?  and how long?
Again, YOUR strenght shows how bad you want this....

Well suboxone is always a big topic here and there are mixed reviews. I don't know enough about it to give you advice on that, but many here do. I just wanted to wish you luck and say congrats on getting off the pills. You took a HUGE step by telling your doc and you will feel be so much better to be free. good luck to you.

Good for you. Read all you can about suboxone on here. If you stay on i for more than 21 days.... your hooked and the w/d can last for months and I hear are way worse than vicodin w/d. Try and go cold turkey if you can. Look up the Thomas Receipe on here. I know I am hooked on the subs and have been on them 5 weeks. You will be switching 1 addiction for another. How much vic were you taking a day and for how long? All very impt ? to know b/f we can offer advice if you should try it or not. Remember on sub.... the least amount the better. Don't let a sub doc put you on more. Research a good addiction specialist, perhaps one that is an addiction/pyschiatrist. Doctors just need to take an 8 hour class on suboxone and then they can prescribe so if you read the posts on here, we all know more about this drug than 1/2 of the docs that dispense this medication.
