N/A meetings are the bomb! Once I was able to leave my room I went to a meeting. I started with the 90/90 and now go to 4 mtgs a week and without them, I wouldn't be clean today!

Thank you! Congrats on your 2 year mark. So amazing and I will follow your footsteps. I showered and am doing the dishes next. My daughter has a dentist appt tonight so I am forced to get out of the house. My cat needs food and I need vitamins. Wish me luck and thank you!

Good Job so far..Just know it will take Time and Patience..We did not get Addicted over night so this takes time for the Brain to adjust back from the removal of these Stims. Sleep & Energy seems to be the last. You will go through some stages but just know it is all part of the process.
I got clean back in 2012 and it did take time for me to balance out Spiritually, Mentally and Physically..Still growing more & more as the days, months & years go bye. YOU got some great advice from above. You will find what natural vit/min help for sleep and calm you down and the ones to get you going..Magnesium, Potassium, Ds and Calcium are really good at night as they help calm the muscles down too. Pick up some Protein powder as it has the Amino Acids in it. Get some Electrolyte packets to add to your water. I used to put some Bragg's Vinegar in my water too and also drank some Tonic water. This will help..
YES..Aftercare is the BIG KEY to staying clean..Recovery is a WE thing not a ME thing..The ME thing gets us in trouble..You will have to do alot of changes around you..Like no more playing in that old playground with friends that use or any place that might Trigger You..Even things at home have to change for the best..The detox is the easy part (it is hard) but it is working on staying clean that takes the cake..Hang in and keep pushing and try to get out and redirect your thinking..I wish you the best!!

Thank you! I am really trying hard. Finding that being proactive is helping. Setting small goals each day. Congrats on your 2 years! So inspirational. Did you join an aftercare program? Just trying to get ready for the long haul. Small plan in place right now. Thanks again these posts mean so much to me during this difficult time!

Hey Friend,
it gets so much better, I promise. I am two years clean this month, I quit, never looked back, just kept pushing forward. The beginning is the worst, but you are doing great. Just to read your posts you have so much more life in you than I had, you will be fine soon.
please get some Ensure for when you can't eat, its a quick easy meal. TV dinners are great to keep on hand too. Stay hydrated and take those vitamins. The hot baths are great too.
Hang in there, real soon you will be enjoying life again like I am.
hugs,
Lily

My stomach is shot! Just sick and it feels like spasms!! Honestly never felt like this before. Ate some white rice a little while ago but I can tell it won't be staying down. Looks like I will be sleeping in a fetal position tonight! We will see the other side. After that I cant wait to help others get out of this nightmare! I hope you get some rest!

Hi Hon, hang in there. You should start feeling better in a couple of days. Are you taking any vitamins or supplements? There is a 3 in 1 with Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc. I found it really helped with the restlessness.  Gatorade also helps a lot. If you can get yourself outside in the fresh air, it will help with the fatigue.

Take care. You can do this. Post anytime you need support. We will help get you through this. All the best.

Thank you soo much! I have been taking hot baths because damn my legs are so restless!!! Taking vitamins and eating bananas. Lots of gatorade as well and water. My 14 year old daughter thinks I have a stomach bug. Makes me feel terrible lying but she can't know about this. I cant wait to exercise in hopes of some endorphins! God knows they have been washed up! I already marked my calendar for my first official N/a meeting wed. I am nervous because recovery is so new to me but looking forward to getting started on my journey. Do you go to meetings? anyone else? Few people suggest I see a therapist for a psych eval. Makes sense, I was taking abusing to numb myself from something.

Welcome, welcome....hydro w/d usually last 4/5 days usually day 3 being the peak.  You are right in the thick of things so you need to keep hanging in there and moving forward as you will be out on the other end shortly.  The following things are items I found that helped me during the worst of the w/d.....Epsom salt bathes!!!! for sure, I took 3/4 a day b/c they help with the creepy crawly feeling and the aches and pains!  A good multivitamin, magnesium, potassium ( bananas if you can eat), I took L-tyrosine (found it at GNC) which helped a bit with absorbing what little food I could keep in me, which is where you get energy from and if you are throwing up (or it's coming out the other way, this helps!) They say exercise but I was so freakin tired, there was no way I could do it....maybe take a walk, get some sunshine!  Believe me, the sunshine helps!  Just hold tight and keep steady....your moving in the right direction..forward, don't look back!

I am definitely on the emotional roller coaster and will try not to overreact as you mentioned. Day 39 is amazing. You are an inspiration, congrats to you! I cant wait to get my life back. The opiate used to be my best friend. I loved the effects it had on me but that all disappears and turns into a complete nightmare. I am just happy I opened up to my family and a few friends. I feel relieved, i was so alone and all I thought about was pills! I feel so sick but so free. Long journey ahead and lots of hard work but I am in it this time. So proud of your accomplishment! you must feel so relieved to have your life back!

Day 3 and 4 were the worst for me withdrawing from Norco. Started feeling better towards the end of day 4, day 5 was much better. It still took a few weeks for my brain and body to adjust. You will feel lots of different emotions, don't overreact to any of them. Your not going to want to do anything but you must. Go for a walk, sit outside. I felt like the more stuff I did the better I would feel. Your brain has to learn how to produce its on chemicals again. Your doing it though, you may be thru the worst of it. Eat bland foods, hydrate , and try to stimulate your brain. I'm on day 39 and I feel great!!! You can do this. After day 5 I just felt like I had no energy, but each day it got better. Took until day 20 before I felt almost normal. Keep it up.....congrats on taking back your life!

Immodium helps with the stomach issues, melatonin for insomnia, lots of water, healthy foods, exercise, sex, dark chocolate, music, funny movies, hot baths with Epsom salts or really hot showers, ibprohen for muscle aches..I know when I've been in w/d before a positive attitude helps a lot. Congrats to you both..keep up the good work.
