For the crawling, restless feeling take potassium and magnesium. It doesn't take much. Also try sipping Tonic Water(the quinine does the trick here) mixed with orange juice.  It's great that you got outside...good for you!

Wow already! I am so in awe by people that can taper down! I tried and tried and just never could. I haven't drank alcohol for 23 years this Feb. maybe that's why I couldn't just have a couple drinks either! Lol!

Getting down to 5mg. is really in your favor, but you will still have symptoms of withdrawal anyway cause our brains are not just accustomed to the drug replacing our serotonin, it won't start making it again on it's own for some time. You must be a mentally strong individual to have stopped using the other substances as you did, so I have a lot of faith that you'll do well with this hurdle too!

What hurt me the most was the anxiety, (creepy crawlers), and the nausea, (vomiting, diarrhea). What helped the most was hot baths for the crawlers, I did have to have Zolfran for the vomiting, Imodium for the diarrhea, drinking ice water, or if really terrible, just ice chips. If you have a friend or friends, massage helps so much with those creepy crawlers! I couldn't have made it without those baths...idk why it helps so much but it does...it's temporary though, cause as soon as I got out the flu feelings were back.

Try to keep your mind on something else, even if it's minute by minute. Pleasant thoughts if you can, sometimes I had to count backwards in my head to calm down. Again though, the low dose you've got yourself to should make it so it's not unbearable. Yogurt helps get the bacteria normalized in your gut and it's smooth and nutritious.

You know that it takes 2-3 days before all the narcotic is out of your body? So it gets worse around the 3rd to 10th day.  My thoughts will be with you! Keep us posted when you can; most of us know how your feeling! ❤️Kathy

I stopped 5 mg of methadone every 12 hours, had been tapering. Stopped Valium 2 months ago, stopped resteril 1 month ago, and zanaflex 4-8 mg every night for sleep.
So today stopped methadone & zanaflex.

Surrender to the process, for me, that was very important. Let the symptoms come and go, try not to anticipate or obsess on how you feel. Stay in the moment and remember, no matter how it feels, you are doing the right thing. Keep posting here, as IBKlean mentioned, keep moving. I walked in circles in my house at first, the more times your blood circulates, the faster the liver can metabolize the methadone. Your low dose is working to your advantage. Having patience and not reading too much into how you feel is essential. Just let each minute pass, watch movies, read about addiction or anything, just try to stay distracted from how you feel, it will pass. Time goes slow right now, but know it will speed up again. You can and are already are doing it, just keep going in the moment. Keep us posted.

Light exercise, hot baths with epsom salt. As symptoms come up ask here and the members will tell you what they did for it. Congratulations and hang tight. It is worth it!
