Day 3 just ended going into day 4, didn't take the Vicodins, made the spouse put them away

Hi all Thanks everyone for the encouragement ......after hearing everones posts I knew I wouldn't take the Vicodins.  For those who don't know me I was prescribed Oxycontin 40mg 3x a day and Percocet 10/325 3X a day ... but I was taking double the dose precribed and ran out over 2 weeks early. My spouse has 120 Vicodin in the house and when the pain was really really bad I asked everyone what they though of maybe me taking a few to help with the pain and it was a Resounding NO ...which I knew in my head .... but it just solidified that i shouldn't take them and  I didnt :) My question today is that I am beyond exhausted ... I mean I feel so tired and just out of it .. is that normal ? and is there anything I can do to counter it ... any suggestions would help  Von

Got any good ideas on a taper for someone that has been taking 20+ norco10/325 for over ayear? I don't have a plan as of this very minute but need some ideas. I have asked my Wife to control my pain med. and she is gonna help me but wants me to come up with a taper plan (at my request I might add)  and need some input from someone who has been there and done that. I do consider myself a strong person and do believe in my heart that I can stick to it so any ideas will be greatly appreciated

yep, like taperme said it is a part of it.  Although, if the zanaflex helps your muscles and you dont think it will be a problem for you, take it if it helps.  I never got any tyrosine, so not sure about that one, if its on Thomas recipe I know it helps with all the other things there.  I heard the other day that l-theanine of the japanese sort is really up there with valium for relaxation.  I never got any of it.  I looked at the price and said huh.,,anyway I couldnt afford it then, couldnt afford anything, after spending over 3 grand a month on dope (pills). ugh.  guess what my bank acct. is back to normal, and that's a big plus!!  You will feel really better pretty soon, just keep on truckin,  couple more days!!  good luck von, we are rooting for you - be strong!!

It's par for the course, in my opinion. Just remember it has only been 4 days. I know patience is hard, but it is required here. :)

Michele ... thanks so so much for your respose .. I thought something was really wrong with me ... I have been using the thomas recipe .... I took the L- Tyrosine for the first time this morning just like the recipe said and I have been doing most everything else except I didnt have valium or the like so I have been taking Anbien and a very mind muscle relaxer called zanaflex to help with sleep ... who knows though maybe that is making the malaise much worse ... do you think that could be it ... or like you said this is just par for the coarse going into day 4 of Opiate withdrwals.  Again thanks so much for your response! Totally normal. You are just a few days away from starting to feel better. A week from now you will look back on this and be amazed at how much better you are doing. The sleep thing is hard....and I am sure contributes to feeling so bad. Just try to be ok with that for now and hang in there. You can do this and you will feel so good about yourself very soon. Good luck!

yes that is the big part that kept most of us on the couch, in bed etc..the fatigue was tremendous with me.  Very normal.  Your body is trying to rid itself of toxins, and showing it.  Did you read the Thomas Recipe far right below?  It is great and really helped me alot.  You need vitamins (b-12, 6, multi) just get some in you, plus you wouldnt believe howmuch just plain water helped me,  I didnt even want to drink it, my lips were cracking I felt so bad, but I made myself and started flushing, and it really helped.  Also for sleep, try some valerian extract, heard that does wonders and helps stress and anxiety too,,I drank sleepy time tea too, i drink that alot at night, and believe it or not it really works! Everyday I take Stresstabs (Energy), got at walmart or wherever - pharmacy, not expensive and they give me energy for the whole day.
Read the amino acid protocol too, you will do much better soon, hang in there!!  you can beat this and not believe how amazing you will feel soon!!!
