How long before wds start?

How long after last dose of norco will the wds start. I have made up my mind to flush the rest of my script and not work myself down.  I feel that would only postpone the wds and I am off until Monday.  Thank you and I am sure I will be reaching out when they hit.  I am stocking up on items I have read will be helpful. Just scared of sitting around waiting for the wave to hit!!! Praying for all of you. Kay

I'm having a restless sleepless nite so I thought I'd check in on you. Listen to gnarly much of that worked for me and it got me to Day 3.  If you start to feel like you are going to lose it thats when you have to get tougher. You can do this and I'm rooting for you and sending you best wishes as long as I'm awake.  Good luck!!!

I am into day 3, off of a very bad oxy/perc habit, Listen to everyone above, it works.  Everything will pass in time, you just have to keep pushing when it gets tough, dont stop, keep going forward.  Everyone is different but what worked for me was the heating pad, hot baths, Advil, gatorade, multi vitamins, Hylands RLS for the legs and this forum. It was hard for me to post my first two days but I was still on here and reading that i was not alone in this.  Keep posting and reading and if you need anything at all let me know, I'll respond to you as soon as I can.  I will be thinking and praying for you.  Good luck and I know you can do this!

Don't be scared hun. It is no worse than having the flu and I am sure you had that at once in your life. If you ever had a bad toothache, the withdrawal is easier than that. Sure you will be uncomfortable but it is very doable and you will grateful that you are no longer chained to a pill.

Your mental attitude has a lot to do with it to so stay positive and try not to obsess over it. Okay? You just hang on and by the end of the weekend you will be feeling better.

I also forgot to mention--any form of exercise you can do will help with the muscle aches as well. So short walks are probably the easiest. Push yourself to do it and you will be glad you did.

Just wanted to add...hot baths, hot baths and hot baths. The warm water is soothing and it will help with the muscle aches. If your calves start kicking (rls) you can put a heating pad on them. Anything warm will help. Also, get your yourself into some comfy clothes and watch an old movie, read a book, do crossword puzzles or anything that helps you relax.

Someone is always to help so if you have any questions, ask away.

Hang in there and whatever you do, don't use!!

That's a great list!  And be sure to keep yourself hydrated as well - I had trouble keeping water down (I know, weird) so orange or apple juice was great for me, and sometimes a little ginger ale as it helped with the nausea.  Also, gatorade is a good choice too because of the electrolytes.  And as your appetite begins to come back, just stay on the bland foods for a while, stuff like roasted chickens, mashed potatoes, jello, tea with toast, that kind of stuff.

And some of the other "non-essentials" for me were clean, comfy clothes so I'd have something comfortable to change into as night sweats were a real problem for me.  And also clean linens on the bed also helped my mood - may seem insignificant, but these little things made me feel a LOT better.  And distractions - LOTS of them!  Stuff like movies, or even mindless TV, helped when I wasn't sleeping.  But the melatonin worked SO much better for me than the OTC sleep aids (those seemed to aggravate the RLS) - and for that, bananas helped a lot and as gnarly said, the hylands restful legs with quinine has also helped a lot of the people here.

And I also agree with gnarly on keeping the positive attitude as that was probably the MOST important thing.  It is tough, but totally doable.  And just keep those expectations for feeling better low for a while, just go slow and just let the whole process sort of "sink in" to you.  It's a lot better than resisting all of this which I think makes withdrawal SO much worse.

Good luck to you!  I'll be rooting for you along the way - and lastly, keep posting.  Venting is a much better way to cope - better than taking some stupid pill right?  :)

HI.....it usually depends on how you been taking them if its every 6 hr you will feel the beginning in 6hrs with the more sever stuff in 12 to 14hr it usually a 4 day deal with you starting to see the light one or around day 5 some of the symptoms my last into 2 weeks but the worst part is over in a week....the first think I tell everybody is try not to let fear into the equation its always worst in our heads then it turns out to be....the best thing you can bring to the table is a positive attitude it will really help when your in the middle of this....keep in mind this is 1/3 physical and 2/3  mental be ready to fight on both fronts...a good hot soak will take away most of the symptoms you may want to pick up some highlands restfull legs it helps with the rls witch is common keep posting and let us know how your doing we will try to guide you the the process good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

Good for you!!!  That's GREAT news!!!

Okay, as far as wd's go, the first 5 to 10 days will be tough physically.  And then the "mental" side of withdrawal begins to kick in.  That's a little tougher, quite honestly.

So that being said, just keep posting here and we can continue to guide you through day by day.  It's great that you've prepared yourself by stocking up on items that will help.  What kind of things do you have on hand when you begin this process?  If I know more, I can share my experiences/opinons with you a little better!  :)
