Day 6, just had acupuncture

Day 6 clean of Norcos, & day 7 clean of oxycontin. I just went in for an acupuncture & acupressure treatment & it was unbelievably relaxing. I know it can be quite pricey, but if you can afford it, I highly recommend it during your detox process. I also just got some chinese herbal medicine from her that is suppose to help with my pain, emotions, anxiety, sleep, digestive tract...everything. She said I should see a noticeable improvement every day.

My wife has used Chinese herbs and swears by them. Whatever works is what you need to do. And congrats on day 6; I wish you smooth sailing.

I'm not really sure what's in them...my acupuncturist takes different herbs, mixes them together, & makes them into specific "prescriptions" for her patients based on their personal symptoms. Its not like buying a premade bottle of something.

It actuallly helped me sleep....8hrs of undisturbed sleep.

When I first started drinking it after two sips...yes two my eyes started drooping and I started to feel relaxed, calm.....I sipped the remaining tea while I did some house work..posted on medhelp hee hee....and then my daughter said she was ready for bed...so I put her to sleep laying beside her...I didn't feel super tired just relaxed and not the heavier got to lay down tired from the sleepytime tea...

Anyways it knocked me out I didn't even feel it. Coming just woke up about 2 hrs ago and I am usually up all night.....

My local social care organisation offers acupuncture to all addicts and I would recommend people give it a try as it made me feel really relaxed and reduced my anxiety by around 80%.

Upon finishing my first session I cycled home and it was the best I had felt in over 2 months - it was as if someone had stolen my problems/ anxiety and left me with a clear head.

I had a very closed mind with regards to alternative medicine but know I know it works - give it a try you have nothing to lose

I am a skeptic at heart lol. Until I tried accupuncture, I never had much faith in 'invisible energies'...sounded like metaphysical psychobabble to me. Sometimes we just need to stop over analyzing and accept that science can't explain everything. My first accupuncture experience was in rehab. I was digging up some intense emotional stuff which was a source of intense anxiety. Not crippling anxiety but the restless, tummy turning kind. Accupuncture was a lifesaver in a setting where medication are not an option. The first time I had a pin placed in the 'valium center' on top my head I knew I found a therapy that works. As I sat like jello in my chair, my heavy heart felt at peace. Anyhow that's my experience and I highly recommend accupuncture. Any help we can get in recovery...

Haha that's funny how u mentioned the valium center/ "3rd eye"! The first time I had acupuncture a few months ago, I was REALLY nervous cuz I don't like needles. She put that one right in between my eyes and it was like I instantly felt relaxed...almost drunk-like! It was incredible!

Yep I looked like Hellraiser with all the needles sticking out of me LOL. Yep the third eye is like a catalyst for receiving messages. The valium center is on the crown of your head. Apparently the outer ears are the addiction points. It's so interesting. Keep posting on how it's going! Way to go on day 7!!

Yes all your body has certain preassure points used in acupuncture and depending where they place the needles will relieve certain things...it is funny where some of those points are
