I'm feeling the same as you- knowing I need to go, but a little uneasy of taking the first step. I've posted a couple of questions on the topic over the last few days. I am meeting with an addicition counselor for the first time this evening. If you haven't explored that avenue, maybe it would be a possibility for you? I've looked into the NA and AA meetings in my area and have made a decision on the one I'd like to start with. Just like that great Kennedy quote: "There's nothing to fear, but fear itself". Just need to do it. I wish you the best

only you can take yourself there, you say you cant stand drinking or using, but you manage to do it, yet you cant get to a meeting to stop? perhaps your not ready to stop yet, do you want to lose everything?, you have a lot at stake if you dont get help, they can and will help you, you can do it if you want to, you know you can!! i really hope you do, my prayers are with you. take care , sudie
Hi,
I don't know how to go you out the door other than to tell you to pick up your keys, walk to the door, get in the car and drive. Sometimes it is just that simple. Push yourself to do it. You have everything to gain and so much to lose. How could it hurt?
As you are getting your keys to go, ask yourself what will definitely happen if you don't do something and will will probably happen if you do?
Good luck. I hope you get there.
P.S. If you can't get yourself there, pick up the phone, call the hotline and ask someone to pick you up. They will be there....
