Day 7---Lot's of Pain---Few Hours of Sleep

Hello All!  I'm going into day 7 now off the fentanyl patch.  There are still 2 HUGE problems.  I get severe RLS once I turn the tv off and get going to bed.  I toss and turn and have even asked the hubby to get out of the bed because I need the room to roll around and he snores which keeps me up.  I have to take a vicodin just for the RLS to stop and also to help get off to sleep.  Not to mention the burning pain in my back.  I really can't think of anything else to do here to get this to stop.  I just started taking an arsenal of vitamins based on what I found in the health pages relating to RLS and having gotten off opiates.  I have also been taking Epson salt baths and adding sleepytime tea.  It's SO hard because my head is SO exhausted, but, my legs are ready to run miles it seems.  I am SO uncomfortable.  I can no longer sleep the way I have been.  I try laying on my back but no matter what I can't get comfortable.  When I was on the patch, I slept about 10-12 hours every night.  Now, I'm lucky to get 4-5 hours of tossing and turning uncomfortable sleep.  This is HORRIBLE!!!  Any suggestions???   I

I have had RLS since I was a teenager.  At first I just thought I was crazy until I found out that my Grandmother had it, and her Mom, and her sister.  It just runs in the family I guess.  I have been prescribed Requip for my RLS.  You cannot believe the difference it make.  It is not an opiate nor does it make you feel high.  If it gets to the point where you want to stab your legs rather than deal with it talk to  you dr.  Just let him know that you have a creepy crawling feeling in your legs and that you did some research about it and you think you have RLS.  It has saved me.  I think that's where most of the sleep problem start.  If you would like more info just send me a message.  Best of luck to  you!

Never been oon Fentyl patch just pills so I'am not sure if I will be any help, but I have the same problems even tho I have been off - 25 days only had to cheat once at 4 and half mg and still haveng same problem. I found a nice heating pad and a new sleeping chewable sleeping pill has came out and it is called Mid/Nite and there is natural sleep ingredients and Herbal Supplements. There is also a Mid/nite -PM with Pain Aid. These have work for me better than even Exedrin PM's or Lorazapam!   Good luck!

HEY, sorry you didnt sleep, i was restless last nite also, been awake since 2 am. But i feel pretty good. I take soma, muscle relaxer at nite. After the loracet is out of my system I will work on getting rid of them. My sleeper has been broke for years. A friend of mine takes tripofan, im sure i spelled that wrong but its like a vitamin not a narcotic, you can buy it at vitamin stores. I hope you feel better soon.
