I took neurontin briefly, about 7 years ago, for help with chronic pain management. When used for that, I know the medication has to build up in your system and then you kind of level out at the dosage. I'm not sure about its use for withdrawal, but I have heard it is helpful in some kinds of addictions, although I didn't think opiate addiction was one of them. I may be wrong, and hopefully someone with more knowledge will comment on it.
Good luck! The water will move quickly under that bridge in retrospect...just hang in there in the mean time.

Thanks for you comments, it does make me feel better. The doc wanted me to take 3 klonopin a day!!!!!! They were zonking me, so I have cut that in half and today, I will only take 1/2 in the evening to help with the sleep. I am fortunate where I am able to work from home today, but I cannot do this until I feel 100%, it seems that it may take a few more weeks. Has anyone heard of neuronton because he has me on this also. I have cut back on that considerably also. The whole point of not take the "bad" pills was to be pill free, so my plan by the end of next week, is to not take any klonopin or neurtontin. I am looking very much forward to being free and hopefully feeling good. It has also been suggested that I take Lexapro for a little bit, but like I said, I feel like I am taking more pills now than ever before. My son comes home from summer camp this Saturday and I really want to be my best for him as he has been away for seven weeks. Anyways, just cannot wait for this to be water under the bridge.
Thanks to everyone and I will stay in the Forum to help get through this.

I don't know your health situation, cut klonipin almost killed me...not literally, but it totally zapped all of my energy. I have extremely low blood pressure and it lowered it even more, so I was almost a zombie. When the fog lifted enough for me to find out what they were giving me, I refused to take anymore and almost immediately felt better!
As far as how long you'll take to start feeling somewhat normal, that's different for every person. 7 years is a long time, even at a realtively small dosage, for usage. Your brain chemistry has been altered and will take time to get back to some degree of normalcy. You may find, over the next several weeks, you have good days and bad days. Some days you may have anxiety, other days you may feel pretty normal. It's a roller coaster for a little while, but....there IS light at the end of the tunnel. Just hang on!
As far as the diarrhea...when I went into detox in April, I was coming off of four years of extremely heavy usage and I suffered that inconvenience for at least three weeks. Immodium is your friend...don't hesitate to use it. Drink fluids to make sure you stay hydrated, because losing fluids will also zap your energy.
Good luck! 7 days is great!! Stay with us, okay?

The stomach thing stayed with me on and off for a couple of weeks or more. The "fog" started to lift about day 8 or so. Some people just take longer. The klonopin may be hurting more than helping at this point. Try cutting the dose at night just to get some sleep. It can be a depressant, especially if you're not used to it.
hang in there, it does get better but its slow, the alternative is to stay with the pills, which you dont want, your well on your way to being free, stick with it.
