Day 8 and Anxiety is thru the roof!

Well it's day 8 for me. Tapered quickly off lortab (8 a day down to none) fioricet (5 a day down to none) klonopin (down to .5 from 4mg) and zoloft (150mg down to 75).  Now I spend most of the day shaking inside and feeling terribly anxious. I have trazadone but it just makes me tired and anxious and flexeril which doesn't seem to do anything at all. Did I try to do to much at once? I'm starting to think I should have done one at a time....but I'm a "right now" kinda person, and think I just wanted to be totally clean too fast.

Thanks to you all. It was my psych doc that put me on the .5 klonopin to get me off the benzo. I guess she felt that it wasn't working and the zoloft would help instead. It didn't, just made things worse, and when I came clean with her on the other drugs, she simply copied my records and told me to head to inpatient so since I didn't go, she will no longer treat me. My regular doc I've been avoiding since she's the one that supplied me with large amounts of these drugs and I'm embarassed to tell her I've been abusing. She would give me klonopin though and it has helped quite a bit. I guess I should just be up front with her, embarasssed or not. She should know anyway, since I can walk in there any day and get more pills. Should close that door for good. Thanks again for the advice. :-)

ooops, din't see you, IBkleen :.. :)

see, delgado, that you'd better talk to your doctor, your health is more important than anything else now.. maybe as ibkleen has said, you would need help with the anxiety meds and it's better step by step.... this is not going backwards but walking safely

Both fioricet and klonopin should be tapered  under the supervision of a doctor I feel.Klonopin is a benzodiazepine and fioricet contains a barbiturate and both need to be tapered slowly to prevent seizures .
If you have some left contact your doctor for a taper schedule and I understand your enthusiasm, but you have to come off these drugs more slowly than the opiates.

yeah, we want it now and we can't wait .... this is how we are used to do things when abusing substances and it's not a good thing when quitting so many differents meds at the same time, you are right :)

but what is done,.....is done so i would think it's normal that you are feeling so very anxious, rdelgado ( humm that's spanish  :) ) i'm afraid i have no experience with all this stuff and i'm sure somebody else with more knowledge than me will come and help you with some good advice but i would think that at this point the best thing is talking with a doctor , don't you think so ?

there is always a solution, just don't give up fighting for your new life :)

Hi,

I think it would be in your best interest to call your doctor. I don't know your story or why you decided to come off of your medication, I mean anxiety medication, but it is quite possible that you need it.

Please speak with your doctor. Hope you feel better soon.
