Taking any opiates is just going to prolong the withdrawl process. Methadone is a very long acting opiate, that's why you felt so good for so long after taking it. Please don't start with the methadone! It is a beast to get off of and will make the oxy wds look like a walk in the park. Unfortunately  there is no quick fix when it comes to wds. Check out the Thomas recipe. It is full of lots of vitamins and supplements that can help with wd symptoms. Drink a lot of water and gatorade to stay hydrated and flush out the toxins. Immodium works great if you have diarrhea. Hot baths with epsom salts help with restless legs and general aches and pains. I wish you nothing but the best of luck!

Hey, music is amazing. It is what helped me keep my sanity during my detox. Anything that can keep your mind occupied and off pills is great. And it can help pass the time when the seconds are crawling.

You can't go around it, over it, or under it....you're just gonna have to go thru it.

I love this and it is so true! Mickeymouse, the issue with the benzos is that they are addictive. I have known several people who 'didn't like' benzos or the way they made them feel. They ended up going from opiate addiction to benzo addiction. It's so easy to switch addictions. They are addictive, and we all have addictive personalities, or we wouldn't be here. Some people do use benzos to help get through the wds, but it is something you have to do under a drs care and really be careful of. Benzo withdrawl is another horrible  withdrawl that can actually be very dangerous.

You, me and ariley were cross posting, I think.  It's good that your only source is the dr...and he won't give you anything else.  Is your stash gone now?
Be careful with the benzos....2 weeks max....cause I made that mistake once the opiates were 9 months out of my system.  Even if they make you sleepy NOW....once the opiates are totally out of your system....your body will crave the benzo.....if you take it for too long.

Ok, so I finally figured out what you sign-on name is suppose to represent....mickeymouse,huh?  That threw me for a few.

Your first post said that last Saturday was your first day with nothing (I guess you mean no oxys)....and you said it was horrible so you took vicodin...then Sunday was horrible so you went to the dr and they gave you ativan...and Monday was not good so you took some methadone....and then on Tuesday you took more ativan (the long half life of the methadone helped on Tuesday), and now it's Wednesday...and this is your question, "Would taking 10 mg of methadone today and only today make my symptoms come back or make things worse or will I be ok?"

Now you just posted that you flushed the methadone and want to know about taking 15 mg of morphine...and that it seems about as harmless as vicodin what are thoughts on that?

Since you know you're an addict and have got off the subs 3 yrs ago....don't you realize that taking an addictive substance every single day does not make you clean?  You are still trying to take a drug to get off a drug...it's the same drug seeking behavior.  And if you have vicodin, methadone and morphine....how come you have access to all these opiates?  There truly is no "easier softer way" to w/draw from narcotics.
You can't go around it, over it, or under it....you're just gonna have to go thru it.  But....you are going to have to tell your dr NO more narcotics and cut off your sources for all these drugs.  If you head knows they are available....you'll just keep taking them when you get sick or have a bad day.
You were totally clean for 3 yrs?  And did you have a recovery program?  And change the people and places you hung out with?

You are young...and have a wonderful life ahead of you....but you are majorly fooling yourself right now if you think you've "had nothing since Saturady"....you've put an opiate in your body everyday but one...and you put an addictive benzo in there.  The road to freedom is yours....and I so hope you can hear all your rationalizations you are making to yourself.
And I pray you can just bite the bullet......get prepared.....cut off your sources for addictive drugs......talk to someone close to you....and get some aftercare support.
Wishing you the best~

If I had to guess, I would say that it's the addict. Our addict brains try to make every excuse they can for us to keep using. I know that you can do this. You made it through wds from subs! Those are no joke! If you can do that, you can definitely make it through wds from 20mg of oxy a day. Just try to give it some serious thought before you pop those morphine pills in your mouth, ok?

Pretty much anything you take that is an opiate is going to prolong the withdrawls. The weaker the opiate, the less damage it will do. I know how hard it is and how desperate you feel for a little relief. Ultimately it is up to you, but I wouldn't take it. Taking anything that is an opiate is not only going to drag out your wds, it will put you on a slippery slope and you might just keep taking them. It's best to just be done with them. Cut all sources whether that be dealer or dr. You were able to taper down to a low dose of oxy, and your wds shouldn't last too long. Everyone's different, but 4-5 days seems to be the norm. Great job on deciding to flush the methadone. I know that can be a very hard thing to do. It sounds like you've been through this before and know the drill. Hang around here and keep posting. This can be a great tool in recovery. Lots of folks who have been through the exact same thing and want to give you lots of support and encouragement. You can do this! It's hard, but so worth it!

thanks :) yeah i already decided not to take the methadone, i flushed it, this is my second time going through withdrawls the first time was about 3 years ago from subs and i did the thomas recipe for that and that was horrible lasted at least a month or more... aanyway about 6 months ago i got a shoulder injury which is why i had to start on oxys, im tempted to take this 15 mg morphine that i have though, it seems about as harmless as taking a vicodin, what are your thoughts on that?
