Day 8!!!

I'm on day 8 today. It has been roughly 51 hours since my last dose of suboxone (1mg) and while I am going through SLIGHT detox, I feel better than I have in years. I have emotional ups and downs, especially when my pain starts getting the better of me but when that happens, I hop on my bike and pedal through it. I'm doing this for a better quality of life. For my son, my husband, myself and for all of you. As a suicide counselor and survivor (attempted last November, died twice, was in a coma for a week) I feel empowered to keep going and not give up and that's exactly what I intend on doing. For the few of you who had questions or comments about my use of Suboxone - I wanted to say that my mind set going into things this time was tremendously different than any other times I've detoxed. This time, I did it with a goal and a purpose and I REALLY wanted to reach it. I no longer wanted to be a slave. I set mini goals for myself and each time I reached them, it was a mini victory for me and enough to keep me going to the next one. I do have to say that I honestly feel this would be so much easier going through with some sort of anti anxiety med. I will keep everyone updated. Love & hugs - Bella

I live with an alcoholic. He drinks every night. If I drink I use. I get it.
Terrifying. I post people on here & in my meetings get me through. There's a women's meeting at my group 1/2 live with alcoholic addicts & make it.
We're going to do that to.
You go girl!!!

That's the one thing that scares the living daylights out of me. My husband is also prescribed the same medications that I was on and am addicted to. It's not fair to ask him to quit because *I* screwed up. But on the plus side, he's been taking them around me and I've even had them in my hand, while going through detox AND being in pain and I still chose not to take them. The ache for that relief will always be there but the need for my life back will hopefully always be greater. Working on putting together an aftercare plan as we speak.

Great job. Congrats & GOD. I'm on day 21 off methadone. Starting to feel better. I'd have a really good day then the next this disease would come like a flood. Catch me off guard. I've just kept posting & going to meetings.
I have to go to my meetings. They are great.
Have an aftercare plan. This disease lye's in wait at the most unexpected times.
Great job!!!

Great job on your clean time. You have a such a wonderful, positive attitude. Keep that up, keep setting goals, and surrounding yourself with support. There will be hard days, that's a given, but if you have a safety net in place, you will make it through. Take care and never give up!

Wow, I can tell you're feeling really proud and empowered, awesome job!  I am new to this forum and in the beginning stages of a taper, it's so great to see people who have made it through to later stages in the process and are feeling the benefits that they worked so hard for.  Congrats!!!!
