Decreased Sexual Appetite

Hi all.  As I've posted before, I had a baby in Spet, 6 months ago.  Since then I have absolutely NO sexual appetite.  I love my husband very very much but I don't care if I ever have sex again.
I'm wondering if it's due to my pill addiction... or just postpartum??
Has anyone else had this problem?

I can't speak for a women, but as a man a heavy pill addiction strikes to fold.
one is decreases sexual drive tremedously
two even if you want to your equipment is softer
than posh puffs............

I think this is just another thing for me to obsess about!

That is funny---and to you Girly I can say that for the most part while I was on the pills I couldn't have cared less to have sex either, but I could do it if I had to I just didn't care if I did---- By the time I was taking 30/day for 5 years I was so damn tired and aggitated all day I probably would have fought someone who tried to get it on with me... Thank God that is over :-)

Congratulations...was it a boy or a girl?  What name did you give your baby?  How big is he/she now?  

In answer to your question, as the father of six...including twins...I saw what happened to my wife's body during pregnancy.  Given the pregnancies and labors, it was a wonder she ever wanted to have sex again.  Plus, she was getting up at night to nurse and running on a empty tank during the day.

The pills will also inhibit you.  First, they are usually taken before bedtime to overcome pain so a person can sleep. There is little time for sex.  And, once the opiates build up in your system, there can be a lethargy or indifference to sex.

So, I suspect you are experiencing the impact of both pills and post-partum indifference.  

The good news is that the post-partum will go away; and, you will get off the pills.  We in this Forum will be here for you, with advice, reassurance, and example.

Girl I totally get the whole "I feel special attitude" But it is the opiates I know it because I stopped about 2 months ago and the drive didn't come back right away but slowly you kind of feel human again and really want another human to touch you... It's weird believe me but just to put it bluntly who ever thought you could actually feel "horny" again??? LOL I guess stranger things have happened----- And for you Michael (aka beachtowel) yes your right we got the point.... But it was funny because this box of puffs sitting next to me is soft and comforting but all the sudden after your response they feel even softer?? LOL

I would say its probably a little of both, I had a very healhty sex life and even after my son was born I was pretty (here comes the TMI) horny, but after I started taking the pills its not that I did'nt want sex, but I couldn't get aroused for it...no matter what, and I couldn't have an O either.... I'm hoping after these next few days 9I just quit) I can get back to having some good sex and just just the "ok if we have to" kind! Most pain pills do carry the side effcet of decresed sexual urge.

i just posted this same thing the other day...i am totally in love with my husband, whos is 23, of 4 1/2 years...and i am totally attracted to him...i am 31...he should not have to beg me for sex at our age...i hate not wanting to have sex...and i really hate that he told me that when i do finally give in...if i do...that he feels like hes raping me...i do get into it but i am thinking i cant wait for it to be over...i cannot wait til the day when he walks in the door and i pounce on him again...
