Dependency

I have a friend who is addicted to Hydrocotone.  She as been listed at several hospitals because she was pretending to have ailments to get the pills, but now she is using a dentist.  She is having teeth removed as an excuse to get the prescription.  She denies she has a problem even though she has been made to start a NA and AA program due to her probation terms, and she is on probation for writing bad prescriptions for Hydrocotone.  She recently asked a friend if she knew anyone who she could get the drug from.  She is so badly addicted.  I know her boyfriend is given the drug for disc problems, however I don't think he gives her any, he is wise to her.  I am worried about her she has kids and is risking everything for some damn drug.  I can't trust her, she lies about everything unlucky for her I have a good memory.  I have toyed with the idea of calling her probation officer but I don't want her to go to prison, which she will because of the terms of her probation. Why is this dentist continually giving her these drugs and what can I do to help?  Thankyou for your advice.

If she is required to go to Na meetings because she is on probation are they not doing random drug testing on her? you can call the dentist or even her probation officer, her probation officer cant tell her who called.  good luck, you really are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Maybe you should/could notify the dentist? I'm really not sure; if she finds out though, it will definitely ruin your relationship.

You should try and force her to go to NA meetings, maybe go with her.
