Detoxing from hydrocodone - 90 mgs daily

Wow, my dependency on hydrocodone snuck up!  I've been taking about 90 mgs on a daily basis for 8 straight months. I've exhausted my resources with successfully getting prescription after prescription from various doctors smd Urgent Care facilities. However, I think my skills in manipulating docs have come to an end. Crazy how medical records are electronically shared  from doctor to doctor.

What can I expect from getting off of these?  I am determined and hate the vicious cycle that I've fallen into. I just filled a prescription for 60 pills, which should last me 6 days. Do I begin a taper or continue with 8-9 pills a day and then begin my recovery?

Any help, support and suggestions would be awesome. I am scared and very concerned about my future if I can't get clean.

It's comepletely natural to feel that way. Powerless I mean. But you're not. You stronger than you know. You've got a friend in me; in all of us. Keep posting and stay positive.

Thanks - and I don't think that I'm disciplined enough to taper. 12 days is awesome. I'm so excited to get to that point!  I figure that by this time next week, I'll be 2 days in the process. I'm pretty tough and confident that I can overcome this dependency.  I also clearly understand the powerlessness of where I'm at. Ugh!

Hey welcome to the forum. Lots of great support here. My habit was pretty much the same as yours. Tapering would not work for me. Had to bite the bullet and go CT. Glad I did. 12 days completely clean and sober today. First few days are rough, but it gets better. A lot of it depends on your mind state. You have to make yourself some days. Fake it til you make it. Good luck.
