3rd day

Well I'm on my 3rd day.  I didn't sleep very well and, in fact, was up around 3:30 this morning and laid awake until it was time to get up.  5 hours sleep.  I cannot wait until I wake up and think about the day - rather than whether or not I'll get thru it.  Yesterday was WAY better.  Does anyone find it difficult to get excited about anything????

Hey - thanks for the support.  I'm not going back to it - don't worry.  I have "cultivated" a plan - it's called exercise.  I've heard the word before and if I can recall I used to be pretty good at it.  I think that will be my focus.  I've written down a personal fitness goal and I'm going to try to hit it and just be healthy.  I'm changing my eating habits as well.   No more toxins for me.  I'm like a roller coaster - If I drink too much I feel like **** the next day which USUALLY is what makes me relapse.  I was off of these things for like 2 months earlier this year - and I did it with exercise.  I felt GREAT.  But - I thought I deserved a little something for the effort so I got some more and the rest is history.  So here I am again - and I'm taking an approach that I know can work initially and I will just concentrate on SUSTAINING it.  I'll keep everyone posted.  By the way - the Steelers will CRUSH the Pats next week.

If you read through my journal you might find something that will help with the withdrawals.  The best advice I can give about the sleep is to not fight for it.  Don't lay there looking at the cieling and counting the minutes.  Get up and do something.  Reading always makes me sleepy at night and helps increase knowledge.  Pick up a book, magazine, or print out a website about your addiction and read up on it.  Day 3 is one of the worst, but you will notice a difference by tomorrow; so DON'T QUIT!  Love and Strength to ya!

Day 3 that's great!  On my last run through day 3 I just kept telling myself and everyone in here told me it will get better if you don't use. We don't have to go through the pain of day 3 twice.  I'm on day 11 and I do sleep better than I did at day 3 that's for sure.  Hot baths helped me before bedtime..
