Why is it so hard to quit? What are we really giving up when we do? What is it you'll miss once you're sober? Will you miss the empty bank account, the anxiety when you're almost out, scheduling everything around the pills, or the withdrawal when you can't get anymore? All of us are in a battle, we're fighting for our lives, fighting for ourselves, fighting for the ones we love. It's easy to give in and put up that white flag, on those restless nights and that feeling this will never end - that's when we remember, nothing lasts forever. Yes, we're addicts there's no getting around that, but that doesn't make us any less of a person than anyone else - once we've won the battle it makes us a little stronger than those who've lost their lives to it and who have never gone through it. Every second of everyday that we don't give in we're winning, we deserve to fight for ourselves and get back what we've lost. Think of how many people relapse everyday, well every day you don't give in you're showing yourself how strong you are. One of my favorite sayings, "you never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option". That applies to all of us - if I could I would reach out to every addict and challenge them, I'll let them know, if you don't give up on me I won't give up on you. Now, who wants to take on my challenge?
