Drug abuse and your pituatary gland

Just a heads up for all you guys out there and your spouses.  After being on oxy and norco for 6 years my wife finally told me that I was a totally different person, and not for the good. these drugs change you mentally and physically. I hadnt been physical with my wife for 2 years. For all you guys out there these drugs ruin your pituatary gland wich produces testosterone and gives you your sex drive and energy. Take my word for it you dont want that happening. I now have to take testosterone every day. Thats when I decided that for my wife and family I can give up the drugs and deal with the pain in other ways. My doc says in time my gland will go back to normal but it will take a long time to heal. So for you women out there if your man seems to not want to have sex with you and he takes perscription drugs, you may want to have his Testosterone levels checked. After he sees that his "T" is gone he may be willing to get off the drugs. This is something the docs never even mention as they write a script for your oxy and norco. OK been on puter way to long.

Very true.  FYI though - women lose their drive for sex also when using opiates.. probably many reasons for this..  Just another thing addiction steals from us.  Congrats on giving up on the drugs!

I just wanted to "2nd" the pituitary thing. . . . I know someone who had a pituitary tumor (not from drug use though) and he was NEVER the same after the tumor was removed. . . . complete personality change, & not in a good way. So, if there's a chance that opiates cause issues in that dept, that's just another reason to stay off of them!
