I tried Effexor during my Sub detox. It was about as effective as taking an aspirin after smashing your thumb with a hammer. Exercise is the only thing I know of that can reduce the post acute WD depression. It figures that the one thing that works is also the hardest thing to do! Clean time is the second best remedy for the depression.
Hang in there. You've done a good job setting yourself up for success in quitting subs. You can do this!
Thank you I'm not going to take it I don't want to be addicted to another medication
I took that stuff in 2005 for one month. I stopped and had 7 days of misery. I felt fine after that but I am sure everyone may be different.
Hey Deep, welcome. I don't think anyone can tell you what you should take. I can give some advice though. So you're trying to stop subs along with depression. Sounds like a lot of drama in your young life. I presume you have a doctor who knows your history. At this point, maybe you should have some trust in someone trying to help you. Trying to kick a habit is tough enough with a strong mind. If you feel it's ok, then maybe you should try and calm your mind and tackle one issue then the next. I don't know Paxil but a family member swears by it. Me? I would try it and get straight. Life's too short to go around high as a kite. Before you know it, you'll wonder where your life went. Sounds rough and I mean it that way. You've done it your way now maybe it's time you took some good advice from your doctor. If it's not for you, then make the necessary changes. I hope you take the opportunity to free yourself and the direction you're heading on a very rocky road your traveling. I Wish You the Best.....ike
