FLaddict-I might have something..

Hi Hun!

Something hit me today after reading a post from you. Bear with me.

I used to travel quite a bit. I fell in love with Jamaica and met some "natives" there and became freindly. I would go every six months, or so, and always to stay at their home. They are lovely, earthly people.

One evening a cousin of the people I was staying with told me her head was hurting. Mind you, the language is half English and half Patwah. But I got the jist with pointing. She got up to go to the kitchen and I asked "Are you taking aspirin". She said "No no, we do take this in our country. We cut up garlic in small, small pieces and swallow it with water". Holy Moly! They swear by it. I don't get headaches often, however, I have to tell you, I am French-goth sides-and I grew up with garlic in my pancakes (LOL).  Maybe that is why I do not get headaches?

Do you think it is worth a try? It is certainly organic.

Let me know what you think.  Just a thought.....

Big hugs......

LOL, both of you made me crack up!  I am going to wait and try it on Sat.  My son hates the smell, except when he is sick and asks for it, ...go figure!

By the way; I wouldn't recommend doing it when you will be around lots of people...you'll literally smell like a garlic clove for a few days after.....it really comes out of your pores.  XO

I was reading the posts and I couldn't help but think of this ancient remedy I learned from my x-fiance's mother...she was portugese and very wise--I got really sick...I mean I thought I was literally on death's door ( hey kinda like w/d's huh?) and she made me something called "garlic milk"

Here goes:  You get the chopped garlic in water they sell at the store. You also dice up some fresh garlic.  Set aside.  In a pan, pour in some milk and two large pats of butter.  Add the garlic and bring to a boil, let froth a couple of times and take off the heat.  Strain the garlic out of the milk mixture and drink the milk.  It will taste somewhat nasty; its an acquired taste...but I actually don't mind the taste now.

Its also called "magic milk" because when you let the milk sit; it turns yellow because the butter rises to the top; when you stir it, it mixes up the butter and turns white again.

When I drank it....when I was sick...I sweat like crazy...for the ENTIRE night...but the next morning...I felt like a new woman.  IBKleen's post reminded me of it; I think I'll try it...kind of like a home detox...

I'lll let you all know how it goes!
