Feeling defeated after another relapse

Not so much of a question.....
Feeling guilty....I relapsed again...
Been on oxy for about a few months now, on/off for probably 4 years.
Trying a short term suboxone detox this time...
This detox feels so different....I feel completely pathetic.
My families disapointment in me is overwhelming.....
every time i think of it, I get so depressed, its such a trigger.
The never ending cycle of a drug addict.
Makes me wonder if Im ever going to be able to quit

Welcome back girl...!!!  You absolutely CAN achieve freedom from addiction.
Some repetitive/most common reasons people relapse:  they refuse to change their playmates/drug using friends, they return to the same playgrounds where drugs are present, they won't cut their sources, they keep their addiction a big secret and refuse to get into some from of aftercare/recovery around others recovering from addiction.

A complete lifestyle change is one of the hardest things we will ever have to do....but do it we must...expecting new results from old choices simply won't work.
I love your pictures....re-read them......and never stop trying~
Welcome back~

Thank you for the encouraging words....it feels good.
I do need aftercare and a support group, this is far to hard to do on my own.
My councellor always says " The definition of insanity, is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results."
Guess Im falling into that category.
Its nice of you all to reply, and even say hi....
Thank you.

Relapse happens to many of us. What are your plans for recovery? Keep moving forward one day at a time. Have your tried meetings? A sponsor? Get involved, there are a lot of people in recovery and the only requirement for membership in NA is the desire to quit using. You have the desire, now just put it into action. Good luck to you

We've all got guilt. We all think our's is the worst - no one understands, everyone's disappointed, the guilt is overwhelming. All of us, INCLUDING those of us who are clean.
Don't romance it - don't dwell in it - don't make it more than it is. Relapse is a part of recovery. Unfortunately. We all do it. It's when we are truly ready is when we finally get in to recovery. So, listen to what these folks have to say and don't dwell. It's not worth it.

Hi there, I sorry about your relapse. I understand the guilt feeling, but honestly, it serves no purpose. Don't give up, and start again. Figure out why you relapsed and remove your roadblocks. Make sure that it can not happen again. Aftercare, is a great suggestion. You can do this. We will support you! Take care, keep posting.

Have you looked into aftercare? Meetings maybe? I think it will help you tremendously. Quit beating yourself up. Just say hey I ****** up, dust yourself off and get back in the saddle! What will you be doing differently this time around to ward off a relapse?
