Fiance going through withdrawal of oxy

Hello everyone,
I just joined this group after checking to see what pills I had found in my fiance's clothes drawer. The reason why I am coming to this group is because I have read some of the things that everyone has written and I need some help. Last week, I admitted him into a voluntary rehab facility because after taking oxy for 3 years, he took MDMA. He was so paranoid but for some reason this drug opened his eyes to what he was doing to him, his finances and to me. It has been 5 days since he was gone and he came home today. I am so proud of him and tell him every second I get that I love him and that he is doing the right thing. Right now, his legs are restless and his stomach is so upset. After reading several other posts, I went to the store and bought some pepto, tylenol pm and vitamin water. I also bought him some b-12 and valerian root (which smells nasty-so we have to try that tomorrow). I am making him sip at least 3 big swigs of just plain chicken broth so that he can get something in his stomach. Before I left our room, I told him I would be coming back in a half an hour to give him more broth and he might end up hating me because I will make him do things that he does not want to do. I have never been in this situation or around drugs for this matter and want to make sure that I am doing this the right way. I know I need to give him full support but is that all I can give him right now? Sorry this is so long but once I get going.....well I don't stop.

Well, just to update..everything is going really well. I have been checking everything and the detox is somewhat over. He can keep things down down for a week but he still has RLS but not as badly. Thank you for wondering. We had a long talk the other night and I told him that I was not going to be his codependent any longer and will call him out unlike what I did to begin with. He did say that I couldn't beat myself up about not saying anything earlier but that it was him who had to make the choice to get clean. <3 Happy Easter everyone.

Hello again everyone,
Just a little update, it has been rough starting the morning. For the last two mornings, he would wake up at 5 just vomiting his brains out. Hopefully, tomorrow morning will be a better morning. He keeps telling me how truly sorry he is for lying to me and hurting me and I do believe him. I know it is going to be a long road for the both of us but we can make it. I have gone through the whole house before he got home and got rid of all the old bottles and any other bottles that I didn't recognize. I will go from time to time through the house and check for bottles, bags or anything else. I just made him take more pepto because I am hoping that with that in his system, he will be able to not vomit in the morning. He is also starting to eat, the good thing that I did was bought some bread today so that the acid and nasty stuff in his stomach could get absorbed by that instead of putting more food in his stomach and that coming up. He is still feeling pins and needles in his legs but not as bad. I will keep up with the updates and will still encourage him to join this forum as well so that he can not only get encouragement from me but from complete strangers as well.
Good night and God bless.

I sympathize with you and admire what you are doing for your man.  Howevere,  I was on a high dose of hydros and went c/t I am on Day 8 and still feel some withdrawals.  I was very good at hiding it from everyone that loved me and I lied to them.  Now I wonder if they see a difference in me?  I am very clean( not straight) because of all the baths and showers 3-4 a day not just my morning go to work shower. My voice is different, and the eyes that one is a new one for me.  I am very light sensitive, with blue eyes. You are doing the right thing. Please make sure that there is no secert stash anywhere in the house. A room that he would always dissapears to for a minute or two,  I hide mine all over the place, so I didn't have to go very far to get one.  Good luck to the both of you and God Bless you.  As well as Kudo's

The rehab that he went to was state run and could only hold him for 5 days unless he was baker acted then it could be 7. Just an update, he was fine last night for a little bit until 5am this morning and the vomiting started again. Unfortunately, I have to go to work today so I am going to have one of his friends check up on him. Right now, I am the only one working and cannot get the day off. We talked last night for a long time about his time in rehab and he said that it was the worse thing ever. I told him that they make it that way so you wouldn't go back. The only meds they gave him were for RLS from day one and then tapered that off and something for the nausea that apparently didn't help at all. Will update when I get back from work.

I'm a little confused.. What was he doing in rehab? Why is he out if he's still in withdrawals? Did the rehab center kick him out or what?

I was kind of wondering the same thing-if he was in rehab for 5 days and he came home in this condition did they do anything for him there? I know eveyone reacts differently to everything just kind of wondering if they did anything to help him besides the anti-nausea shot?any follow up care suggested?

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I totally know to check for his eyes because I would comment on his eyes before but now I know that him falling asleep was not because of the not sleeping at night it was because of the drugs that he was taking. I am going to keep an eye for anything now and the seizures as well.

Honestly, he hid it very well and was only aware of how much until recently. He swears that he is being totally honest with me and time will only tell. I am praying that even though he tells me what he realizes but I hope that he acts on them and stays clean. I let him know that anymore lies from him and I am gone because I can't handle the lies anymore. I will buy the tonic water tomorrow after work.

You are a trooper!  Your finace is lucky to have you there helping him.....His withdrawal symptoms will get better soon.....The big mistake that most people make is that once they can walk on their own two feet they think they can tackle the world again sober.....Just keep an eye on him and watch his eyes.....it is all in the EYE's!  You know what I mean....the pin sized pupil's....Be there for him but watch him closely.....Good luck and God Bless!

The last time that he did any drugs was on Tuesday night or Wednesday, Wednesday is when we sent him to rehab.I say Tuesday night or Wednesday because that is when he took the MDMA and it sent him over the edge. So to be honest, I am guessing Tuesday because he resorted to MDMA since he didn't have anything else. He was in rehab with no meds but they did give him a shot in his buttocks to help him with the vomiting and diahrea. Right now, his stomach is so upset, he is weak. Going through chills and then hot stages. He is drinking little bits of water and is staying in bed. His legs are on fire and they are restless. He is very weak but he hasn't thrown up yet, so I am thankful for that.

He was taking oxycodone 30mg and he told me today that he would take up to 10-12 a day. I do not know how long he was taking them for the 10-12 a day dose but he told me that he has been taking them for years.
